Well, I thought I would let everyone put a face to my name - so here's a picture of me and my youngest brother Rocco, at the San Gennaro Festival in NYC this past weekend. Rocco is in the process of eating a "mozzareppa", which is a newly invented fatteningly delicious (probably) food - basically it's like a mozarella stick in the shape of a pancake. It really didn't even tempt me - all I could think of was the grease - and I had my MF shakes, etc. so I was satisfied.

Second pic is just me - and yes, I survived the day WITHOUT cheating at all - I just planned exactly what time, etc. I was going to have my MF shakes. We had to get back on our bus at 5:45 so we ate around 3:30 (my L&G was veal and peppers--only ate half the veal cuz I wasn't sure I should be eating it, but it was the best choice on the menu), told them to leave the pasta OUT and give me a salad instead. Restaurant people, I have found, are usually happy to comply with special requests - you just can't be afraid to be a little agressive. Anyway, we had a wonderful time and I actually came home and got up the next morning and lost another pound! Total is now 21 !

I never would hae been able to survive an Italian festival without eating all that good/bad stuff in the past, but I just kept telling myself that it will all still be there when I'm ready to have it again but right now, MF is my "medicine" and everything else is "anti-medicine" ! :-P

You look so happy! I love your attitude...you are such an inspiration...I wil remember MF is medicine...everything else is taboo!!

Donna and Joyce,

Thank you - the truth is YOU are all my inspiration! I know it takes a real determination and commitment on our own parts to even begin a program like this - but the support of this board is what keeps us all going. I get more out of this board than I did at the 25,436 Weight Watchers meetings I sat through!

Lisa, You're looking good girl. I'm going to enjoy watching you shrink away. Hang in there, you're doing a great job. It will all be worth it after all.

Lisa...it IS nice to put a face with the name! You guys look like you were having a lot of fun! You did an awesome job not indulging and staying with the MF. You have a lot of willpower! Keep it up!

WOW!! you are on a roll :D I like your attitude about MF and especially the part about the medicine.. :shock: I need to think like that all the time as I am tempted with food. :x . Lisa, I am so proud of you. If you can make it through a festival of food and lose a pound the next day just think how well you will do during the holidays.
