Well, I just scheduled a free initial consultation for later today where they do a test patch to show you what it will be like. I have a very low pain threshold, so let's see if I can take it.

I know of a place in Pittsburgh and I think I'm gonna get a quote for my upper lip at least. The cost of living here is much pretty low, comparatively, so it will be interesting to see the numbers. I like the idea of a patch test.....I have a pretty high threshold for pain, though.

There's a place in phoenix called laser for less. Think this is something I should be price shopping on or looking for any price an quality? I'm looking to do...several areas, but starting on my upper lip & chin...

The visit went very well and the stinging sensation that I felt was very tolerable on my leg. I doubt I'll be able to do my face without some anesthetic cream, though. This morning, I woke up with a red/rusty colored area about 10 x 15 mm. It's not sore or raised. In fact, it looks like a bruise to me.

The laser is 12 x 12 mm and they did six spots so I wonder if one of the bursts was too strong. I sent the pic to the doc so he can tell me what's up. If this was on my face, I'd be mortified.

On a sidenote, when the laser tech found out where my new job was going to be on Monday she ran out of the room and got the doc b/c he works there, as well. He's a dermatologist in private practice and takes call three nights a week. My schedule is going to be 11p-7a for four to five nights per week. It's truly a small world b/c in this hospital the nursing supervisor is responsible for everything in the entire hospital. I will be the face of administration and the only person of responsibility in the whole building at night. Because of this level of accountability, I will be working very closely with with all the docs and departments regarding pt flow, pt care, staffing, etc. Anyway, he asked me to page him next week on my first shift just to let him know how it's going.

See--you now have an inside track!! I had some bruising---I had forgotten about that. Did you bruise at every site, or at just that one? I know some mild bruising can be normal, as this is actually a "burn" process. Kind of like a carpet burn. I have a feeling he will be helping you out some with the cost of the procedures. I could be wrong, but I just have a feeling!!

An inside track would be nice and maybe he'll help me out. The bruising was just at one of the sites. Today it looks yellow so it is fading, I'm just trying to figure out how I'm gonna do this ON MY FACE!!!

Laurie ~ How long did the bruising last for you?

My bruising was really minor. It was gone totally in 3 days. They just looked like little pinches or something. The ones under my chin were easily covered with powder.

Okay, Okay, Okay ~ The portions on your chin, was it one or two or many? Did you have to use concealer or just face powder? Did you have bruising in all your sessions?

My hairs on the chin/neck were many. Really coarse ones like mole hairs with no moles. They grew in patches. I only had bruising the first time, and I only use powder. I don't use concealer of any kind. At the time, I was using Clinique double powder as a foundation. Just one swipe with the pouf and it was covered!!
