OMG - What did I start here. Sorry JSKM. First, there is no embryo present in an egg unless it is fertilized (we don't have a rooster and even when we did the embryo didn't start until the egg was incubated). What the egg white and yolk actually is is an "amniotic fluid" of sorts.

Erica - the breed of chicken that lays easter eggs is called an Aricauna or Americauna. Yes, the eggs taste the same. We also used to have ducks which would lay bigger eggs that were SUPER rich. They made the best homemade noodles for Chick Noodle Soup and were perfect for baking, but I didn't like them as breakfast eggs.

As for being "close to nature" I can understand some folks hestitation. For example, I know dairy farmers that drink the milk right out of the tank - before pasturizing (sp). I have never been able to handle even whole milk from the store (anything more than 2% is too rich for me), so drinking the "raw" milk that includes the cream and everything is WAY too much for me. Once that cream rises though, man you can make some YUMMY butter. Obviously NOT on the MF plan. Like I said, though, once I got "hooked" on our farm eggs, I have a hard time getting store bought eggs down.

Ok, all chicken butt talk aside, I am having some MF frustration issues.

After my emotional episode where I was off plan (not eating off plan, just not eating period) a few weeks ago, I really stunted my weight loss. Even when I went back on the 5&1 my loss didn't pick back up. So I switched to the full fast. I've been doing that for about 10 days now, but even still, I'm not really losing a whole heck of a lot. Nothing like I was before. And I have gone back to the plan bare bones. I cut out all snacks or condiments of any kind, all drinks of any kind besides water (and I drink between 90-100 oz per day every day). So what the heck?

And I'm having another problem--I am really really having a hard time getting the food down, still. Especially the first one or two supplements. I eat them slowly, but I get about a quarter of the way through them and I am gagging the rest of it down, literally. I'm trying light things, like the watery soups and stuff too. I just have no appetite in the morning, I never have, but I know you have to eat when you get up. I'm out of shakes right now and I don't have any of the other drinks either, I need to order something like that in my next order, any suggestions (except for the tea, forget that, I tried it and hated it!).

Is it going to have to be exercise to get things really moving again? Geez I HATE to exercise! I am really sedentary (probably a HUGE contributing factor to my weight gain) but I guess if that's what it takes. And that is such a ridiculous sticking point for me now too--the only time I ever exercised regularly in my life was when I was deployed during the war, and you know what, I felt GREAT. So why I didn't continue when I got back, I have no idea. I know it makes me feel terrific. I guess I'm just lazy, but over there I had nothing else to do you know. Anyway, maybe if I can just get over that initial starting hump...

I think what happened here is you made your body think it was starving, which in essence, it was! Im sure you are going thru an adjustment period where your body has to realize that it is ok to continue to let go of the weight. It might take about 2 weeks but you WILL begin to drop the weight again. The important thing is that you HAVE to get in all the supplements, especially now. Maybe you need to go ahead and place another order so you will have some items that you like and squeeze one or two of the others in between to get rid of them. You don't want this to become something that you start to look at as "forced", it might begin to discourage you AND WE CAN'T HAVE THAT!

Sometimes when we keep changing things around, our bodies have a tough time keeping up. The key I think is stability. Follow the 5 & 1 for 4 days and you should see a change. For some, the 6-0 is too little and the body doesn't get enough.
Try the 5 & 1 again and stick with it for a week and you should see better results. Just remember, we all lose at different rates. 1 may lose 5 lbs a week while another may only lose 1/2 a lb a week. Its just the way it is.

Hang in there, you are doing fine.

Hey girl - - I DESPISE working out!! I think of it as a swear word! Though I know I *should* do it, I find a million reasons not to do it. I'm not motivated enough to work out yet so I put it off. I keep thinking I'll do it after the weight loss phase.....but, in my heart, I suppose I think I should be doing it now. <sigh> What's a girl to do?!?

I am doing AWESOME...thank you for asking!!

I had some technical difficulties this week though; my four year old wireless keyboard and mouse system kicked the bucket. The transmitter died. I just got out today and bought some cheap wired temporary replacement parts (which stink). But I'm going out of town in a couple days and don't have time to mess with researching and getting satisfactory wireless replacements. (I'm a research addict, I can't buy anything without researching it to death first, even if it's something that you can get anywhere.)

BUT, you'll be happy to know I took your advice and switched back to 5&1, and I also added some exercise also. I've lost a whopping four lbs since weigh in on Sunday already.

I'll be here for weigh in Sunday morning this week coming up, but then I'll be home in IL for nearly two weeks so I'll miss the week after that. But I'll only miss one week, I'll be back in time for the following week.

It really sucks I'll be away from my scale...I'm so close to the 30# club...but I won't make it before I leave. I'll just have to wait till I get back and see what I weigh. That's very good motivation for me to stay OP while I'm home though...

Thanks for the holiday wishes Mike!

Well, I wasn't completely compliant. I hate to say it, but it's the truth. I caved to peer pressure from my family. I didn't go stupid crazy either though. Things that I knew were off limits were limited to a bite or two. There were a couple of times where I ate completely off plan when I didn't have a lot of options though--like when my sister and I ended up at a Mexican restaurant on Christmas Eve and a Chinese restaurant on Christmas Day (that's another story, a testatment to my dysfunctional family :roflmao:)

I was really disappointed with my family. They all knew I was on a diet so I thought they'd be pretty supportive, but they weren't all that great about it. My dad made fun of me, my brother kept pushing food, my sister even teased me a little, my grandmother acted all offended when I didn't eat all the loads of homemade stuff she cooked. About the only person who didn't say anything was my mom.

But I still did ok--I got on my scale this morning and from the Sunday morning we left (the 16th) to today, I still lost 7.6 lbs. So I'm happy with that. And I'm back OP today.
