Hi Linda,

After my first week, my loss slowed down also. But, each little lb adds up. We just want it fast. It will work, trust it.

We were 101 today and supposed to be 100 tomorrow. Still no rain!!

Hang in there, Chin Up !!

Hiya, Linda. Look at you!! (shakes head in awed inspiration) :you:

Stay the course, Medibud! Your weight WILL fluctuate throughout the week, and even throughout the month, depending on so many variables. The scale is only data; it is quantitative. Don't take it as a qualitative evaluation! There were weeks I'd get on thinking I'd lost and I was actually up a pound (or two). (Aim for at least the same weight -- my ups got a little out of hand a couple of times this year.)

And, yes, the loss slows down. My goal is a pound a week. Sometimes I exceed it, sometimes I'm not quite there. My favorite measures, though, are feeling my midsection and squinting at the size label in my pants.

Every three hours, you're changing your life. Make it a lifetime change!

Thanks Tracy, Lasi, Donna and Diana for the encouragement. It was hard but I did NOT step on the scales this morning! I will weigh Friday morning since that is my 2 week anniversary and again on Sunday morning for roll call but other than that I am going to try to stay off the scales.

During thin times I weighed every morning and if I saw a rise I nipped it in the bud. During the pig-out years I avoided the scales. I was just trying to reformulate the habit but I guess I got off track and was obsessed with the numbers. I keep telling myself - hey! Besides the 9 pounds you have lost 2 inches from your waist already!

I couldn't handle the up and down of the scale if I was on it everyday so I only weigh once a week. I did do a mid-week weigh in three different times just to check and those were not very good so I quit. Be sure and take measurements because the scale isn't the only way to tell if your losing weight.

Have a good day.

Donna - I did take measurements and have lost 2 inches off my waist already. I haven't had time to check my other measurements lately but will this weekend probably.

What a short night it was Wednesday. I see in a few other journals I wasn't the only one who woke up way too early today. I woke up at 4:00 but did eventually manage to get a little more sleep but it was shortly before the  alarm went off! :x

I was tired but other than that it was a pretty good day. I am definitely looking forward to the weekend though!
I get my new custom-made lazyboy this Saturday afternoon! Finally! It took 9 weeks for them to make it.

Linda,
Don't let that scale rule! It is only one sign of our progress. A couple weeks ago I was up 1.5 on the scale and I almost had some sort of hissie fit. Then I decided to clean out my closet and found many of my clothes too big (thus Donna got a box of clothes :D ). Who knows what's up with the whole scale thing, but there are so many factors that affect our weight at any given minute.
I can tell you that now that I have lost 40+ lbs (and still losing) that the scale does not have the same power over me it did in the beginning. I feel confident that the program works and I just need to keep on keepin on! :D
You are doing great. Keep looking at all the positive signs and you'll be amazed at how fast your results add up!

Thanks Mickey! I really needed that encouragement this morning. I weighed this morning since it was my 2-week anniversary and the scale still didn't move. I feel awful, like I have done something wrong. And now I also feel deprived because I gave up bars thinking they were preventing me from losing. Ha! No bars for days and still no weightloss since last weekend. I already made plans to eat out with my daughter tonight but on Sat and Sun I am going 6/0. Something has to shake this stall loose. It is too early for this. Also next week I will try moving my L&G to lunch instead of dinner. Dinner is much easier for me since I work clear across town from my home (11 miles) and can't come home for lunch. I also ate my L&G at night because that has always been my danger time for overeating and I thought having the real meal at night would help.
