Tracy - I have decided that if my weight is up on a day I honor the scales with my presence and I know I have been compliant, I will write that weight down in my journal but weigh again the next morning to see if I go back down and not change my ticker until I see a gain for a while. Of course then I will have to figure out why!

I have mostly given up asking "why" if I have been compliant. The scale is just not always on board with what we have been eating and our exercise. If I have been non-compliant I know-otherwise it is a mystery that I am not going to spend a a lot of time figuring out because I am not in control of it if I am on plan. There are just too many outside factors and variables to consider. I write down my weight every morning in my journal whether I like it or not.

4 inches! Linda that's awesome! And I'm with you on taking the inches over the scale. I always say I don't care if I weigh 200 as long as I'm a size 6.

Well... I don't know about the 200 but I'll take the size 6! LOL. Actually I could live with 150 if I was a 6 but that is pretty far fetched. When I used to wear a 5/6 I weighed from 115-120 at 5'7". Right now I am just happy to be shrinking!

Thanks for stopping by. :D

Biki - I just meant I would have to analyze my eating more closely in case I had made some mistakes. For instance, I discovered a while back that the new salad dressing I had bought had more calories than I thought it did. Yeah, it was low in carbs and was tasty but I was shocked at the calories so I went and bought another one and paid more attention to the nutritional info.

Today is Day 41 for me and the scale gods blessed me with a loss overnight. I am down a total of 18.4 lbs now I believe. I still have a long way to go but as long as I keep losing I don't mind being a turtle. I am more amazed with the changes I am seeing in my body and the drop in my waist measurement than I am with the pounds. I have never had an hourglass figure. When I was young I had a coltish figure and kept that until menopause. Then I lost my waistline completely, even before I gained the 50 pounds! It is so nice to be getting a waistline back. :D

Hope everyone has a great day!

Oh! I forgot to mention I am very close to my first mini-goal! After I quit smoking in Feb. 2006, I gained 20 pounds (on top of the 50 menopause pounds) and I am about to release the last of those post-smoking pounds!

Linda this is all SUPER news! Congrats!

One of my favorite things is trying on different clothes from my closet every week to see how they are fitting.

Keep it up, the results only get better!

Hi Linda,

Congrats on the weight loss. You aren't so turtle like, that is a very good loss for 41 days! Aren't the changes just fab, soon you'll be out there buying new clothes and prancing around in the dressing room in absolute delight! :D
Reached Goal Nov 2007 61.5 lbs lost
Gained 11 lbs in Mexico 3/08, decided to lose that along with another 5 lbs!

LOL Biki - it will be a while before I have a pin-up girl figure and then only if it is a "Golden Girls" calendar! :D

Tracy - I need to start doing that. I have so many clothes I outgrew on the way up I figure I have a built-in "on the way down" wardrobe! My big concern is pants and jeans for fall and winter. As long as I have plenty of those that fit me the sweaters and jackets can span sizes.

Mickey - Love the changes but wish I could be consistent. Well, I guess that is a lie because I consistently lose one week and then go nearly another week before losing again. The time seems to space out the same all the time. So far Tuesdays have been my best loss days and Mondays have really sucked. Once I figured out that I usually get scale-love Wednesday mornings I didn't worry so much.

I really haven't wanted to shop at all yet but I am sure I will once I lose more. I am only 5'6-1/2" but have a 34" inseam so with my height and long legs it takes about 20 pounds for me to change sizes completely so I can wear my 14s still although they are getting really loose on me but I have only dug out a few 12s. I need to pull out more this weekend. Right now I am enjoying the comfort of very loose 14 jeans even if they don't look great.

Me too! I go walking in my size 14 denim bermudas so I have a place to put my keys since my bra fits properly now, and I see myself reflected in windows and my butt looks so saggy because of the extra fabric and weight of the keys-just hanging there especially since they fit low on the hip now.

Ahhh, but aren't they comfy? LOL. I don't know about you but when I started MF my jeans were very tight and very uncomfortable to the point that if I had to sit for any length of time I was absolutely miserable! And it's not just jeans. We are having another late heat wave so I put on a pair of capris this morning that used to be very tight and they feel so good now. They are my favorites and I will miss them next summer but hopefully someone else will enjoy them when I give them away.

Good morning, and I hope this is a great day for you!
