Thank y'all so much for all the boobage info! I think I was feeling like I needed to make a decision soon, since I'm scheduled to see the plastics guy soon. But after talking with you all, I think I will give MF time to work it's magic! My primary doc told me that even after I lose weight, the twins won't change, but what would a guy know, right? Biki has already proven him wrong! 7 inches - WOW! You must've had to buy a whole new wardrobe!

Love from Texas,
Stacey

I hadn't measured that recently and after a pretty big loss last week it is actually 8 inches the twins have lost! Since it is transitional summer/spring clothing and I am still almost 50 pounds from goal, I didn't want to pay retail but I overspent on EBAY buying stuff that I can wear as I change so yes, things were fitting me like a tent!

Hi Stacy!

I feel exactly like you and am in the exact same situation as you -- 120's to 170's, and whamo -- 225 at age 38!! YIKES!! :x

And like you, I eat when I'm sad, bored, depressed, scared, mad, etc. I know M/F works b/c I did it about 15 years ago and lost close to 50 lbs in about 2 months! I just up and quit one day and never went back!

Divorce, remarriage, and a new baby and here I am again -- darned determined to get this weight off once and for all. And not only for me do I want this, but obviously to see my baby grow up and have his mama, but for my husband who has loved me at size 18 for me! I am excited to lose weight for HIM too! He's never known me any smaller than a 18 so I can't wait until I'm a 12 or something!

And just like you admitted, I too set myself up for failure by being afraid of being at goal! I don't understand that because I do remember so vividly how GREAT it felt last time and when you get to where you are losing several visible pounds a week, you are on such a type of "high" -- it's a great feeling and keeps you going.

You probably will lose the twins -- or lots of em'! I know for me, that's the first place I lose weight!

Anyway, looking forward to sharing the journey with you -- I just officially started yesterday.

I'm not a water drinker either but do find once you force yourself into drinking it, your body will thirst for water and nothing else will quench the thirst -- it will just come naturally after several days.

Good luck!

Tiffany
P.S. im in the Dallas area.

Wow, Tiffany, we took exactly the same route! I managed to lose about 50 a few years ago on the Adkins diet, but I put all that plus some back on. I mean really, how is an over-eater really going to keep weight off eating bacon? I think MF is going to be so much easier for me. It helps me a LOT to not have to make any deeper decisions that what packet to hydrate. If I'm given food choices, I'll always choose poorly or I'll choose the right food but eat WAY too much of it!

My in-laws are just outside of Dallas, in Midlothian. I've only been a couple of times, to the rodeo and to a bar called Big Balls of Cowtown. I don't think I'll ever forget the name of that bar! You are brave driving in Dallas, though! I thought Austin had traffic, but Dallas puts us to shame!

Good luck on your MF journey! Here we go! (again  ) May it really happen this time!!

Love from Austin,
Stacey

Thanks Stacey!

I actually live about 30 miles N. of Dallas but we go there quite a bit. I've heard we are some of the toughest drivers -- and I believe that! People are vicious behind the wheel of their car!

I drive through Austin quite a bit as I have family down in Corpus. Austin is a very beautiful part of Texas. I love San Antonio too. Lots of fun things to do there and it's a very pretty city.

I've done Atkins a million times and did have some success. I've done every diet a million times!

One of the things I've read and holds true for me too is that when I look in the mirror -- I don't "see" myself as being but "a few lbs overweight". Then when I have a photo taken, I'm just like, "wow-- what a terrible pic of me!" My kids and I were going thru some pics a few weeks ago and my 17 y.o. daughter would find one and say, "wow mom -- look how good you looked" or she'd say somethign to the effect of how I should stick with my diet so I can look like that again. It really hits home to look at those pics from the past and was a big realization to me of how much weight I HAVE gained -- it's not a BAD photo -- it's BAD eating that has brought me to this point! And then I just think it's somehow going to go away!

M/F is great b/c you don't have the choices and when you eat badly or make bad choices, eat too much, etc., taking the choices out of the picture is a great way to re-train your brain.

And I should know better than anyone b/c my dad was morbidly obese and died from a heart attack at age 58. He struggled with his weight for as long as I remember. I loved my dad more than anything -- still do and miss him terribly. I went everywhere with him and as I got older, I was embarrassed when with him b/c people would stare, etc. He just didn't have the support he needed -- my mom was very critical of him and always put him down. And here I am -- fighting the same battles he did and I am my biggest critic! I want and need to break that cycle!

Wow -- that got winded!

It's amazing what a bad photographer I used to acccuse my husband of being. He was blind, must hate me, always focused on my double chins on purpose, couldn't take a good picture to save his butt, etc....now, he takes great pictures of me according to everyone on the board. I wonder what changed?

Tiffany, you pegged it on the pics!! I am EXACTLY the same! I manage to convince myself that I'm just a bit overweight, but I dread looking at photos 'cause I KNOW they tell the truth.

I'm so glad we're starting now instead of later in the year. I keep reading posts from folks who started and then had to make it through Haloween and Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Year's. I couldn't do it! I'm so glad pecan pie and dressing and gravy are a good ways away!!!

I agree Stacey -- the other time I did M/F (15 years ago) I started it in late September, October & then quit in November b/c of Thanksgiving events.

I will love wearing shorts & a short sleeve shirt this summer!! All us Texan's know how darn hot it gets in Texas during the summer. It's been several years since I"ve worn a short-sleeve shirt and trust me -- wearing a long sleeve shirt in 100 + temps is miserble! 8)

BDG - I have noticed many folks from Texas on this board - we're all neighbors!

No - I didn't do a journal -- do you mean like one I write in every day or the journal forum? (which I haven't checked out so I don't know what it is all about....

Hello to you too, Laura! Good luck on the program - I KNOW we can do it! We're actually getting sleet this weekend in Austin! It's crazy!

You oughtta check out the journals, Tiffany! I would love to keep up with your weight loss journey! It's really nice to be able to vent and to get feedback from others. It's really been an encouragement to me so far! It has surprised me how many others have had the exact same feelings and experiences I have!

Welcome aboard Stacey! When I first started the program...I said oh no..I can only have 3 caffinated drinks a day..they have got to be kidding..I am actually doing well with my two cups of coffee in the morning..and I save the best for the last at dinner time...my sweet tea (with splenda of course). I have one of those tea brewers and it is my best friend. I actually enjoy the tea now more than I did before because it is a treat after drinking all of that tasteless water all day (sorry water lovers) it wakes up my tastebuds.

Good luck to you!
