Help, advice please...

Postby Kat » October 20th, 2006, 7:06 am

Good Morning all, we have a Foot Ball game today and wondered if I can replace a MF meal with a 16 oz sugar free, skinny, latte??? I am on my third week doing fabulous and have not cheated and do not want to start now. Just thought it would be a nice treat if possible? Thank you all in advance, Love you and this board, Kat

Kat, it depends on the calories, carbs protein. I understand in a pinch, we should have skim, 1/2% or 2% milk. I guess the calories should be under 150 total and the carbs and protein should be as close to equal amounts as possible (10 carbs 10 protein etc) Both nutrients are important in medifast meals.

I wouldn't recommend replacing any Medifast meals unless you absolutely have to, especially so early in the program. It can be a very slippery slope.

Why not have a Medifast cappuccino or a cocoa or something like that?

I should be receiving my first on Monday or Tuesday. Do you use (2) cups boiling water? Do you ever mix it with coffee?

I JUST WHIP IT

Postby ykceb » October 20th, 2006, 5:06 pm

I MIX THE CHAI LATTE WITH TWO CUPS OF COLD WATER, WHIP IT WITH A HAND WHIP, AND MICROWAVE FOR 3 MINUTES...TURNS OUT PERFECT.

I DO MIX A TEASPOON OF INSTANT COFFEE WITH THE HOT CHOCOLATE..., BUT I THINK I WOULD RATHER MIX MY PACKET OF HOT CHOCOLATE WITH FRESH BREWED COFFEE INSTEAD OF THE WATER, AND WHIP IT BY HAND...

THE CAPPUCCINO, HOT CHOCOLATE, AND CHAI LATTE, I ALWAYS MIX WITH TWO CUPS OF WATER, AND THEY ARE PERFECT...GOOD LUCK...

I love coffee, so I've mixed it with the hot chocolate, chai latte, chocolate shakes, and vanilla shakes......all good.

Just be very careful mixing hot liquids with MF products. The Hot Cocoa is a whey product so you may be able to get away with it. But I know if you mix hot liquids with the soy products .. the hot liquid cooks the soy and you end up with soy lumps --- YUK  I always mix everything with cold liquids and then heat the combination up in the microwave.
