Do we have to eat all six meals?

Postby PJinCali » May 4th, 2006, 6:14 am

I know the quick start guide says 5 & 1 but what happens if it is the end of the day and I am just not hungry for any more food? What happens if I don't eat the 5 & 1? Yesterday I had my Lean & green at 7:30pm and that was my 4th meal of the day. I was not hungry at all for the other two meals.

Has anyone else had this experience? What is the downside?

Thanks,

Hi, sometimes I find the same problem of 'no hunger' and 'two meals left to down'.

What I try to do is have four of the supplements during the day before my L&G meal. I space them out from early morning. Then, like you, I usually have a L&G anywhere between 5pm-7pm. I save one supplement to have later in the evening, be it a shake, pudding, or whatever. This way, I am able to get all five supplements in along with the meal. I hope this gives you some ideas. Others will chime in to offer you their ideas, also. Just make sure you have those 5 supplements when doing the 5-1 plan. The nutrients in the packets are vital to your good health!

PJ,

I often find myself not eating the last supplement of the day, but that may have very well slowed down my weight loss.

This week I started exercising again, and so I know how important it is to get in all of my calories, but sometimes after dinner, I just don't get hungry again, in fact I feel stuffed. 7 oz of chicken and 2 cups of lettuce is alot.... stuff's me and I hate that stuffed feeling, I feel like that is what got me to this point.

Anyhow, I suggest you try really hard to get in that last supplement. I bought the RTD and since they are only 8 ozs, it seems to be easier to get those down when you really aren't hungry.

Hope that helps,
Terri

I've been getting 4 in during the day - then my L&G at night, for my last supplement, I make it a Chai latte so it's more like drinking tea at night instead of a heavy shake or pudding.

Try purchasing some tropical punch with your next order. It isn't nearly as filling as the other meals.

It is so important to get all your supplements in. I agree with what the others have already stated, try to choose less filling items so you can get more in. Your body NEEDS the vitamins & minerals. I always use hot drinks or creamy soups to sip when I'm not hungry, that way it doesn't seem like I'm eating.

Eatting everything

Postby Jan » May 4th, 2006, 9:20 am

Hmmm,
You should eat all 6 meals each day. Here's the reason why. This program is a medical program and the calories are closely calculated. When you skip a meal you lower the caloric intake that day. You then risk the possibility of your body going into a self preservation mode and deciding not to part with any weight. Plus, when you don't get in all your meals during the day you face the possibility of the munchies in the evening. I know there are people who don't have all 6 meals each day but I think there weight loss would most likely be better if they did. I don't think there are any statistics on this but I know the program has been medically evaluated many times.

Thank you everyone for your response and helpful suggestions.

I will try harder to get all 6 meals in day. I have some RTD's coming with my next order and I will order some less filling items next time I order. The medifast meals make be feel really full (actually a little bloated) but I am determined to work this program so I can lose the weight.

Thanks Again, :bouncieball:

I agree with all the responses here. I remember reading in Success in a Shaker Jar that if you don't get all your supplements in, it can stall your weight loss. Just my two cents.
