Regarding Halloween...I solved this "candy" dilemma with my 8 year old daughter...She will go trick or treating, but we made a deal that when she's done with the fun of it...The candy is given to her Dad and she can get a Non-caloric treat at the store this weekend !! Maybe a new book...new hair band...etc...

Just thought I'd add my thoughts !!!

Katesmom, me too!!! My 7 year old is going to get to pick 10 must haves from her bag and the rest I'll buy from her for a new Webkinz.

As for candy at my house, we'll have none. I had a costume party for the kids on Saturday - - with junk food, candy and fruit :-). All of the left overs were sent home with willing adults - - mostly my 100ish pound Sister :-) (I swear I don't REALLY want her to gain weight).

Oh, and we'll be out trick or treating so I don't need candy to hand out. When I have in years past though, I dump the left over (or what would be left over) into the bags of the final few trick or treaters - - which usually are older kids WAY to old, IMHO, to be out there. So, OOPS, I think I am one of them irresponsible folks making yer kids fat :-).

Hugs everyone!
