Hello Dahlink!

I very much missed your posts. I, too, have suffered from an overactive fork...well, actualy mouth and teeth, so I've got work to do, too. But we'll do it!

RavenKat ~

Hey, you! No MORE hovering!

We wanna see you slide under that 200 line and enter into ONEderland! :woohoo:

You are so close - you could be there by the end of the month.

I KNOW you can do it! I just know it. :puma:

For many of us Old Timers (who are not old), this has been a difficult year. :hugblue:

Some of us have lost :tears: loved ones,
some have had :puke: illnesses,
:brickwall: accidents,
some have :x lost jobs
and others have gotten :trophy: promotions or :lightsword: demotions...

life has happened and not all of it was pleasant. :aarggh:

Try as we may and as much as we want to,
we cannot control the things that happen around us
but we CAN control the things we stuff into our mouth;
if we WILL.

It is a matter of self-control.

It is a matter of WILL power.

We ALL have a certain amount of will power and we all have some self-control.

If we did not have a certain amount of it, we would all be thievin' and cheatin' and be total societal wack-ohs.

If we didn't have will power, we wouldn't :snooze: get up each day and :burnout: go to work.

If we didn't have self-control, we would all be  robbing banks, shoplifting, spouse-swappin' and  serial killers.

Some of us have been robbing the cookie jar, health-swappin' and cereal box killers!

Draw down from the deepest parts of yourselves and use your self-control to keep from reaching for the calorie-dense, carb and fat-laden artery and vein bustin' crud that entices you.

Food is sort of like quicksand to me; it is all too easy to get sucked in by the pull of it.

It is VITAL to eat every three hours, drink plenty of water, be prepared at ALL times and in ALL places with a packet, a bar and an RTD. Never leave home without it.

Hi Guido and welcome back. I just want to let you and the other returners know that you are back here because of me! Yes, I have very strong suggestive powers and when I first came here, I couldn't get enough of old posts. (I feel like we're old friends, lol) Anyway, IT IS ALL ABOUT MEEEEE, you know, and I found myself wishing that the forum had some of the strong posters from the past.....now! I thought real hard and here you are!!! What other explanation could there be?

But seriously, welcome back all of you. Your input is greatly appreciated by this kook. :nana:

Mike,

So wonderful to see you here again and glad you're back (but of course, not for the circumstances that surround your return).

I am also back. Like you, I've gained a few (OK, quite a few) pounds. It happened slowly at first so I didn't worry about it enough. Made a few halfhearted efforts to go back on program but each time convinced myself that I really could and needed to do it with a more traditional diet. Over the holidays I lost all control and put on an additional 10 pounds. All of my bad habits came back with a vengeance and I got scared of backsliding completely. Resolved to come back full-time starting 1/1/06 and am now almost done with day 5 (and already down more than 7 pounds, thank you very much).

I need to lose about 30 pounds to get back to my original goal and might go for an additional 5 or so. Based on my past experience I should be there sometime in March.

I also haven't posted or even visited very much, mostly out of pride, but agree that the support is both necessary and incredibly valuable. So Ill try to be back much more often.

Best of luck on this phase and may all of us learn enough this time around to help us conquer or at least control this problem for good!

Syl-veeee!!!

Howdy doody!

Missed ya, wondered about ya and glad to know that you know where to come.

Accountability is needful for us all.

Go ALL the way to your goal. Do not stop before you reach your optimal weight...if you don't reach it, it is unlikely that you will ever go back to get that last 5 pounds off. Gulp! I say this with love and total compassion and empathy, those last five turned into more.

Sylvia! It is SO good to see you! Although not because you need to be here, I hasten to add. Sorry about that part of it, but man, I was thinking just yesterday how much a role model and support for me you were, and how much I missed having you around.

You know this plan cold, so I'm sure that you'll have those extra pounds off in as little time as possible.

Gee, the lawyers are back! You, me, and BK all came back and restarted this week!
