First Month Weigh-In

Postby KLCHRISTIAN » June 21st, 2005, 8:28 am

Well, I said I would wait a month between my weigh-in's and this morning was my first.

I lost 17.5 pounds. I know I should be excited, but somehow I just feel disappointed. I had hoped to be one of the large losers that share on the board, but I guess I will continue to be a slow one. :x I have always been a slow loser, I was just hoping that MF would be different.

Well, I guess just buck up and have a shake. I will weigh in again on 7/19.

Dear KL,

Way to go....Don't be disappointed. 17.5 pounds is AWESOME. I typically lose only 8 to 12 pounds a months...you are on the right track. Hang in there. Look at it this way:

17.5 Pounds equals 280 ounces of Flab

or.....
70 Sticks of butter
23+ Cans of soda pop
46 servings of a 6 oz. chicken breast
186 Hershey chocolate bars
2+ gallons of ice cream
80 bags of microwave popcorn
13 loaves of wheat bread

So...there you have it. Do this for one more month and you will have lost a total of 35 pounds. You can do. It will be soooo worth it.

Have a great day

Wow, what great determination you have to just weigh once a month. 17.5 lbs is great! I can understand though wanting more, most of us want to lose more, but hey if you weren't on this plan and was on a different one how much do you think you'd lose, half this much probably, or less. Plus, 17.5 is about .62 lbs lost per day! :D Congrats to you! Oh, yeah, did you take your measurements, too? I'm sure there will be a surprise there, too! Take care.

I hear you! I was dissapointed in my loss, too... *Only* 13.2 lbs in three weeks? (which puts me around the same loss as you in one month)

However, then I talked to a few people---did you know that on most diets, you only lose 1-2 lbs a week? and rarely the higher number... Also, did you know that for every 10-15 lbs, you drop ONE dress size??? That's one dress size per month!!!

Also, think about it in a larger scale---if you lose 17.5 lbs a month, in a 3 months, you'll have lost 52.5 lbs!!! In 6 months, 105 lbs!!!

Now, 17.5 is starting to look pretty amazing to me... :-)

I think you've done AWESOME!!!!

Well said Victoria7. You are doing a great job so far. I admire you for only weighing in once a month. I don't think I could do that.

Keep ya head up & Keep shakin' baby!

Thank you all for your kind words.

I only weigh in once a month because it drives me nuts to see what the scale says I weigh. I realize I should be happy, and I will be, I just need to get out of this funk.

This funk is exactly why I only weigh once a month.

That's awesome Pam! :yay:

Just think if you went to WW (no offense to anyone who likes their program), you'd probably be down a whopping 8 lbs. and would be STARVING to death.

You're on your way - you're doing great!

Pam~~I agree with the others 17.5# is awesome. :kool: You should be proud. I am absolutely amazed that you can go an entire month without weighing. I would never make it that long. You have great resolve.

Victoria7~~Love your post. I had never really thought about it like that. Can't wait to see what the next 3 months holds for all of us.

The first thing I did when I read your post was to take your goal pounds to loose and divided it by 17.5.....I got 4.71months...HOLY COW that is not a long time to dump 82 some odd pounds! How long have you been over weight? ANYHow if you can make it one month before getting on your scale you can do ANYTHING!!!!! I have a scale obsession. When I stopped getting on it I knew why.....I WAS EATING everything in site!

Just think you have 3.7 months left which means by halloween you can go buy a sleek sexy costume in the regular size section!!!!!

YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8)

Pam- I haven't started MF yet so I'm a little outta the league here. I have spent thousands of $s on various programs over the past year and have not lost more than 7 lbs within a month. I hope I am as lucky as you. Please --Don't be discouraged, you inspire me!
