I'm told there's very few carbs in the wafers because they're so small. The juice/wine is another matter. But if it's just a sip, I wouldn't think it would matter all that much. And if I were Catholic, I would think my faith would be more important than the small bit of carbs and just have it. It's only once a week, right? You should be fine.

Thanks for the response! I'd read on another message board (low-carb) that taking communion counted as cheating. I was hoping that this would not be the case. It would seem counterproductive to have to reset your ketosis for 3 days every single week, afterall. I don't usually partake in the wine. And yes, losing weight means a lot to me, but not as much as my faith. ;)

Mike and I regularly participate in communion with no ill effects. Therefore, ditto the above.

Cough syrup and powdered creamer, on the other hand...

I love those responses...

You know- I must be the stupidest girl alive. I can't have powdered creamer? I think I am going to puke- is that why I am not losing weight?

Gillian, lose the powdered creamer! Get some real half-n-half (2T a day counts as a snack) or try it straight. I only had it 2 days in my one cup/day when I ran out of the real stuff at work...kicked me right out of ketosis!! :dooh:

DH is really vigillant about the half-n-half level now. My ability to choose to be nice is greatly hindered when I fall out of ketosis.

I agree 100% that you should partake in communion. Your faith should definetly come before MF IMHO.
