I don't use prepackaged turkey meat because it usually has carbs and weirdo additives but I have turkey breast sliced for me at an actual deli. Watch out for "honey roasted"-means carbs usually.

Thanks Biki - so I am assuming something like Butterball Turkey Breast would be fine - I know a deli that sells that where they will slice it for you...oh that sounds so good. I did go out and buy a butterball turkey breast this past weekend and then thought - who the heck wants to cook that in this weather....but I still bought it. Thanks!!

I use the Honeysuckle White turkey slices. (I went over to your journal and answered this already but thought I would put it here also.) I usually cook them on top of the stove with seasonings and they are like pork chops minus the bone.

That sounds good and a nice change from deli meat. I wonder if Peapod carries them? We don't have a real grocery store close by so we have to order our groceries for delivery.

The weekends are just going to be harder than I thought. I stayed on plan, no cheats, but gosh it's hard! Saturday we went to my cousins to help them get moved in. She bought burgers, beers and tacos for everyone so I took a long walk. I managed to get all my shakes in while I was there and my water.

Yesterday my sisters and I met my parents at a restaurant for a late lunch for Father's Day and I had my salad and grilled fish. The fish may have had more sodium or spices on it than I should have had so if I haven't lost much weight I believe I will blame it on that. Still managed to get in all my water but I believe I will try to increase the water to at least 100 oz. a day.

My mom said that it looks like I'm losing weight and she kept going on-and-on about how proud of me she was so that was encouraging for me. She said that she can't wait until she makes up her mind to lose weight; I told her to do it with me but she's just not ready.

I weigh in tomorrow!

Biki - I have heard of pea pod before. Must be nice to be able to just order and have your groceries delivered. But I guess some people enjoy shopping for food. I am not one of them - that's why I go every two weeks and stock up. If I run out of anything - I just pop into the neighborhood grocery store. You should see how jammed packed my cart is every two weeks. Sometimes I even have two.

Donna - I will look for those the Honeysuckle the next time I am at the grocery store. I know how trying going to family events can be. My mom has lunch every Sunday for all of my brothers and sisters and their familes (anybody can come and I have 10 brothers and sisters) and there are times that I just don't go - my hubby takes the kids. If I know it will be difficult for me I avoid it. But other family events - I tend to eat my L&G before I go that way I don't feel so deprived. Summer is extremely hard - I am finding that out. Winter was so much more easier. On top of that - everybody is eating your favorite summer foods and we are stuck eating oatmeal...but remember our goal....we want to reach goal.

Keep shakin' Donna!!

Lost 6.5 lbs this week. Yippeeee!

I'm so glad I made it thru the weekend and it was so worth it now. My chocolate shake order came in and I upped my water intake yesterday (110 oz.). Had 2 shakes, soup, pudding, oatmeal and L&G.

Today I plan on running errands and tilling up the yard to get ready to plant grass this weekend. At least the tilling will be some sort of exercise cause I have a big yard.

Thanks Biki!

I just wanted to post something else in my journal before I forget.........
I cannot remember having a 'hot flash' in the past 10-12 days so I guess that is another plus for being on this plan.

!!

My husband loves carbs as a runner, vegetarian and cyclist so there are things I have to give him when they arrive to lock in his closet. I really miss fruits and smoothies he makes but I wouldn't say it's a craving. But it really doesn't trigger me to unpack the groceries I just am just preparing for a possible future weak moment.

Hi Donna,

Just read your journal here, sounds like you are doing great. Congrats on your loses so far.

Some days are easier than others, but like everyone says, just take it 1 day at a time or even 3 hours at a time if you need to.

Thanks for the congratulations everyone; I don't know what I would do without this board as it really helps me get over some humps. I appreciate all of you.

I had my chocolate shake with a tablespoon of instant coffee this morning, I was missing that and it sure was good. Yesterday I had 3 shakes, oatmeal, soup and L&G (turkey). Actually I didn't have the green cause I had to hurry up and get back up to the gym for my son's basketball game. Need to do better on the green thing.

I tilled up some of the front yard yesterday so that was a little bit of exercise. I plan on getting out there and doing some more work today.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
