Hi, Donna! Just popping in to say howdy!

I haven't read everything, so if this is a moot point, forgive me...

You know those nights when you think you're going to start chewing on the door jamb? If water and something like boullion doesn't work, it's ok to have another shake! (or soup or pudding or anything except another bar). Sometimes a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!!

Keep up the awesome progress!! Remember it's not going to be a straight line, but look at you go!! Have a great Friday tomorrow.

Di

Well - that thar was embarrassing.

I accidentally started a new topic instead of posting in my journal. :hammerhead: :table: :deadhorse: :nonono: :aarggh: :bricks: :brickwall:

Sigh.....

Well - I copied & pasted it here. Sigh.....    :? :( :? :(

Okay - never mind - I just figured out the delete. :|

ANYWAYYYYYYY -

Today is day 6. It has felt sooooo long! LOL

I'm doing pretty good. I'm not having too much hunger, but I am still having cravings.

My heartburn is pretty bad, along with IBS discomfort. :?

I stay occupied most of the day with the usual things in my life. But, when those late afternoon and evening cravings hit...that's when I feel a bit ancy. :nutz:

Overall, I just keep thinking about down the road and where I want to be...in June on my son's :birthday: ...in August at the end of summer...in November at Thanksgiving...by January...the start of a New Year with a THIN me! :bananadance:

I keep thinking if all goes well, I could be at my half-way point by fall. That would be sooo AWESOME! :bouncie:

I had a doctors appointment today so I brought 2 shake packets with me along with my shake cup. I bought a couple cold diet drinks while I was out which kept me compliant. Man - what a pain driving past all those restaurants! Never knew my town had so many! LOL

My blood sugar is doing really well. I'm pre-diabetic/early diabetic or maybe not diabetic at all - still not sure. The point is I've been having my A1C checked every 3 months for the past year, and I prick my finger several times a day.

My morning blood sugar is in the low 90s and my bedtime sugar is in the mid-80s. So, they've both dropped another 10 points. :woohoo: And, I'm not taking any herbal glucose supplements like I was before. It's all the MF-ing.

Hmmmm...what else....

Oh - my hair is drying out a bit, just like last time.

All in all, I'm not minding this so much. If I could get 100% over the cravings it would be wayyyyy okayyyyy.

Just wish I could fast-forward the clock and see the new me already! ;) But, I'll be so proud of myself when I get there knowing how hard I worked to do it. And, I know that will make me want to keep the weight off FOREVAH!!!!!!

Later :byebye:

Donna, you are doing so well on the program--good for you for preplanning for your supplements while away from home.

I sometimes feel that my weight is coming off agonizingly slowly....but reality is that I'm losing about 10# a month and that is a pretty good amount---a heck of a lot better than what I've done before MF. :D

Keep doing the program, head down, plod forward and you will get to goal (and look bodacious when you get there, too).
Began MediFast 2/10/07 212#
Reached Goal 3/15/08 147#
Renewed commitment 9/20/09-after regaining 38# (185#)
Reached Goal 1/25/10 147# Maintaining :)

Hi T

Postby Donna » May 18th, 2007, 8:06 pm

Hi T!

I was just logging off to watch a movie with hub (the new one with Drew and Hugh) when I got an e-mail that someone had posted here.

Lookin BODACIOUS!!!!! Oooooh...I love love love that idea! :D

I'm really glad you told me you have been losing 10# a month. I've been guestimating how much I might lose - and 10 would be fantastic, but wasn't sure if that was realistic! Until I see a pattern, I am in the dark.

I can't wait to see my weigh-in tomorrow - ONE WEEK! I guess I'll hold off until the SuNdAy ROLL call...if I can stand the excitement! LOL

Hey Tawanda, guess what I just noticed? You joined the day before my birthday! Darn - I wish I had joined then, too! February 2008 is when I hope to be at goal (okay - well, honestly I'm hoping sooner, but I want to be THIN on my b-day).

Off to watch my movie.... :byebye:

hey Tawanda - guess what else I just noticed! You and I have almost the same start weight (I was 213)! How cool is that! Darn - now I'm really wishing I had started around my b-day! LOL

You keep on rocking and I'll follow right behind!

Hiya, Donna!
So that means that your birthday is Feb 8th, right?
That's my sister's birthday, too! I loved y'all's birthday this year!
I bought my sis a really nice bottle of wine that day.........and I got carded!!!
And the clerk wasn't a youngster or anything, he was in his mid-30s!
I almost kissed him full on the lips!

Hi, again, Donna. You mentioned "just like last time," so if you know all this or have already tried it, please forgive me...

Hair -- I take a flaxseed oil capsule every day. And I've been taking some sort of hair, nail, skin complex with biotin in it. Even my manicurist is imporessed. The oil adds another 10 calories, but well worth it for me.

Heartburn -- give some Pepcid a try. Your stomach's going to need some time to adjust the acid levels, but it will.

IBS -- are you lactose intolerant? Even if you're not, Lori said on the Nurse's call recently that even those who aren't seem to benefit from lactaid in the beginning.

Munchies -- I think I LIVED for pickles the first two weeks!! One night, I came home, grabbed the jar and ate 5, yup 5, one right after the other standing over the kitchen sink! I don't recommend it, but again a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!! I also relished celery and salsa.

There's a Nurse's call on Mondays and a Doctor's call on Wednesdays, both at 5:30 Pacific 1-646-519-5860 PIN 0971#

Another great resource is the book Success in a Shaker Jar. It's about $23. Talk to your Health Advisor about ordering it with your next shipment.

And I hear ya on the fast forward thing. When I started, my sister had already lost multiple tubs of lard. I thought it would NEVER happen to me!! (I was over 300 when I started.) Short term goals and self-forgiveness are invaluable tools.

Can't wait to see your progress again on Sunday! (I promise not to be so longwinded in your journal in the future  )

Hugs, Di

I have never been lactose intolerant before-and I would have known from all that pizza and cheese fries. But my stomach told me otherwise when I started Medifast for the second time. I only had to take Lactaid about a week and a half before I was okay without it.

Hi all!

Hi Sojourner! Oh YES! Feb 8th is a VERY good day! LOL I don't blame you for wanting to kiss him! ;)

Thanks for the tips, Di. And, please don't apologize for being long-winded, girl! The more the merrier! I am starting to be with you on the munchin' thing...going after pickles and celery BIG TIME! I read somewhere that we could have a Tblspoon of fat-free cream cheese, so I bought that for my celery. I didn't know we could have salsa - that sounds good, too.

Biki - I hope my stomach adjusts soon, too!
