Hey All,

So this is my journal huh? Well let me put down some of my goals. I have decided a complete redo, or 180 degree turn is needed. I am 43, will be 44 way to soon, I weigh 250 lbs, have not been as financially sound as I should be. For those who do not know Dave Ramsey, check out his site or radio programs. The premise, is debt free. So debt free, fat free hehehehhe and basically maybe a sweeter disposition is in order.

180 days is how I decided to approach things. 180 days to see what I can do to change my life. I am hoping to lose a nice amount, by my calculations I need to lose 100 plus lbs. In 180 days 75 should be very doable,, heck from 250 , 180 lbs would be nice 8) . In other words I am trying to concentrate more on the time than the weight.

The boards have been pretty quiet, I am sure the economy is not helping, but I am here...who else wants to spend the next 180 days on a redo? I shouls be ableto start shaking April 1, and 180 days is about Spt 18.

Tata for now,

180

Okay so I played with the tickers...whew, THAT was enough to make me cranky. I really have a short annoyance fuse lately, part of the 180 mental part. :x :x :x :x :x

I really wanted a date countdown, can't find one at this point. Well best start the day....

196 COOOOOOOLLL!!!!!!!!! Very awesome, if you ever wanna chat about Dave Ramsey feel free to PM me...thankfully we don't owe alot compared to others, but have alot of savings to do. You must have been thrilled to get below 200...must feel great. I remember when I thought 185 was SOOOO fat...hmmmphh. Well I won't stop til I see my hip bones. Funny I have a son who is the opposite, he is very gifted and very ADD, God love him he can't focus, he has been on a drug called Vyvanse, the latest and greatest, and it works , but his appitite suffers, he is bones, 58 lbs at 7. My daughter 5 weighs the same, exactly. She is starting dance soon and we recently moved to the country a bit, so hopfully she will be a wee bit more active and this summer when he is off medication, he will fatten up.

From the south I chatter box alot

I think 180 days sounds perfect. I'm starting 3/30 so I'll be there with you. No wavering is my goal. On and staying on.

Also love Calvin, Hobbes, and Dave (have the books too) and just putting his budget plan into place was what enabled me to take a year off work for maternity leave and still pay everything on time. Love it!

Busy this weekend so I'm not posting much probably until I start up Monday, but glad to have you and look forward to the happier people we'll be in 180 days. :D

It's funny how 'six months' sounds like forever, but '180 days' doesn't seem so bad. Oddly enough, it even sounds quicker than 100 days, for some reason.

How are you about pictures? I think I'm going to post some new restart pictures in the studio thread because I'm basically starting all over now. We could post another set at the end of the 180 days. What do you think?

Pictures... I have a plan, a plan that goes with my whacky personality, you will have to wait and see...darn I was helping my second grader with homophones Friday and we were having SUCH a hard time with it, now I see wait and see and think weight and sea.... :? we really tend to overthink at times.

I agree 180 sounds better, I am a bit nervous about the whole thing, and am trying to think of all ther things I can do to make sure I succeed. Monday I am going for bloodwork, my hair is falling out, like chemo falling out, I had a TSH thyroid test and it was normal, I am ordering more in depth, I know , I know every fat person wants a thyroid problem, no me. I don't care about the fat I want my hair!!!!!!!!!!!! :x

If anyone out there has had thyroid problems with seemingly good TSH let me know.

When I was diagnosed one of the symptoms was losing hair. It only took one set of tests and they knew what my problem was. But it was not a magic pill for me. It had no effect on my weight whatsoever. And I was really hoping that it would cause me to lose some weight without really making any changes. About 9 months later was when I started MF. My husband and mother have the same thing, and no weight loss for either of them either. So having a thyroid issue is not the key to getting skinny, sadly.

I hope you find out quickly what the problem is so they can get to work fixing it. If you're already having a hair loss problem you might want to look into taking the Omega3 supplement while you're on plan. Losing hair can also happen when on MF, as well as dry skin, and the Omega3 supplements help a lot with that.

See you for weigh-in tomorrow. Not looking forward to it but hopefully it will get better each week. I finally felt fat and gross today. Not fun, but if it gets me going....

I have a thyrod problem also. I was told by my regular doctor that oh you will start losing weight. What a crock of ..... I was still feeling really cruddy so I actually decided to go to an endincrinologist. (I think I spelled that right) He told me that it is a myth about losing weight. Especially if you are not dieting with it.

I have not had any hair loss in about 6 years since I have diagnosed the problem.

Good luck this coming week.

The hair loss did stop when I got on medication, and the other symptoms (tiredness mostly, no energy) got progressively better as we found the right dosage level. I've always had fine thin hair but a decent amount of it - hard to say if there's been any long-term loss of quantity but it feels the same as always.

Gallons of fat - from your other post, yes, that is gross. I was going to start Monday but getting dressed last night for the show I realized that even the things that fit me look awful - I have no feminine shape, just fat making me sexless. I resort to nice jewelry and fancy shoes to try to make me feel girlie but it's hard to look good in heels when you're trying to balance 260 pounds on the head of a pin! I'm sure I look like a moron trying to walk in them.

I feel on fire and determined and I am here with you for the duration. Going to take some pictures today and get them sent off to Tim to post - not going to be pretty but it'll give me something to look at when I feel like going off....

I have had three abdominal surgeries, one in 1983, one in 2003 and one in December. All were pubic to 2 inches above the naval, so I will definately need a tummy tuck at the end of this. On a good note, I am so fat that when all is done and I get cut for the TT, they will prbably pull down most of the scar.
I am sure my tummy will be SO attractive as I lose weight....scary. Here is my theory, if we had a full legnth mirror and spent 5 mins a day looking at ourselves and NEVER ever wore stretch pants we would not be here.

I find myself seeing someone heavy and then I am in shock, that gasp, I am THAT heavy???? when did it happen? how could it happen?

I also am completely amazed at what a heavy nation the US has become...I hope to pass on better habits to my kids.

Actually, I think wearing stretch pants should be outlawed unless you are under the age of 10 - and maybe even then. I know I shouldn't judge because I'm a cow myself, but when I see really obese people out in these skin-tight pants I just have to wonder what on earth they think they're doing? Sure they might fit but they look terrible!

So maybe if you can't stand to look in the mirror naked, you can wear stretch pants and it will be practically the same thing....
