Postby falisamarie » February 8th, 2006, 12:23 pm

I have finally gotten the chili down to a science!! I take 4oz water, the chili packet, 1/2tsp Better than Bouillon chili base,a dash of chili powder,a dash of dried onions, cook on low for 20-25min on the stove and it comes out perfect!!!

I'll have to try that because the chili is my least favorite. I keep it for my last reserves stash.

I think you will really like it this way if you like chili cause the beans get nice and soft and it tastes just like homemade chili.

That sounds good Lisa! I saved it and will try it when I want it thicker for a taco salad. That sounds like a good dinner with diced tomatoes and salsa.

For work I still love my version. :D

I add 12-16 oz. of water, 1 T. of beef bouillon, diced celery, Mexican chili powder, garlic powder and sometimes a little diced bell pepper.
I simmer on the stove for about 20 min. Then I bring it to work and it's refridgerated for the morning. I nuke it for 3-4 minutes and it's chili soup. It's very good.

I still haven't made the Minestrone, but maybe I'll get creative this next weekend when I have time.
