That is actually called a mini-plateau and it helps if you graph it for us. I went up a pound and a half yesterday and remained the same today. It could be worse.

Definitely a "mini-panic" as Joleen would call it.

Thanks for all the congrats, guys! I'm so excited and so encouraged! I haven't always been 100% compliant

My mom is thinking about joining MF! She only has about 30 to lose, but she's tried SO many diets and they just haven't worked for her. She's been on the South Beach diet for about 6 weeks now - fully compliant - and hasn't lost one pound! She's so discouraged. I showed her the website and we talked a lot about it last weekend. I also encouraged her to see her doc first and have some bloodwork done. She has gone thru menopause and I wanted her to be sure her hormone levels were good and to check her thyroid, too.

She's coming up next weekend, so I think we'll order for her then. I'm so excited for her! :D

Ooops! I got so excited about my mom I forgot to finish my opening thought. I haven't always been 100% compliant, but I feel a new committment to the program! I haven't binged or done eaten anything really bad, but I keep sabotaging myself with little things, like a handful of crackers or pretzels or (Nikiluv) goldfish. Damn little suckers are too darn good. It's weird that I keep grazing on those things instead of the things I'm really craving, like mashed potatoes and bread and McDonald's. It's like getting close to the fire without getting too close. Well, NO MORE!! I'm hoping I'll start losing faster again by cutting out the extras.

Oh, how far we fall. I do this on every diet I try - when I hit a goal, I start to slack!!! I'm SO mad at me!! :x

I was so bad over the holiday weekend. For some reason a few days before the holiday I started craving Cokes. I've always preferred Coke and sweet tea over anything else, and I thought I'd have a really hard time giving them up. The first few days in April were hard, but after that I really settled into getting the water in every day, and didn't even miss Coke or tea. It really amazed me!

Well, the old Coke temptation came back with a vengeance. I had a Coke Friday night, and then a bag of popcorn with a Coke Saturday. Sunday my hubby made chocolate chip cookies, and I ate six!! The next day, it was home-made curly fries. The next night, it ate hush puppies. What is happening!

Time to re-claim the goal. I've been back on track the past two days, and they've been HELL. It's really like starting all over. I HATE water again. I have a headache that won't go away, and I've very bitchy. :( My poor hubby. I have no patience. I can't believe I did this to myself. Well, yes, I can believe it. I'm just so disappointed.

I'll weigh next Tuesday and see what the damage is. On top of it all, it's been raining non-stop here in Austin. It usually rains in April, but by May it's always hot and sunny! Just what I love about being in Texas! I really hate all this rain. I'd never make it in Seattle or Alaska. They'd just have to put me out of my misery.

Ok, enough kvetching. Time to suck it up. Thanks for letting me vent.

Love from Austin,
Stacey

Stacey, stay encouraged. Ok, so you fell off the wagon, you got up, dusted yourself off, and climbed back on with all your aches and pains. Keep going, I am proud of you. You came back and you could have just stayed off completely. Keep on shakin'.
