Bad trading experience with Saraak

Postby angelgirl » May 1st, 2006, 8:46 am

Just wanted to make everyone aware that I sent Saraak a full box of cappucinos on Monday April 17, 2006 with the intentions of getting oatmeal from her. It didn't work out that way. I sent her a pm last Sunday and she said she would send it priority mail on Monday but that never happened either. So beware when trading. My first bad swap on this forum and now I believe i am done. It's a shame when 1 dishonest person messes it up for the rest of us. Just wanted to vent.

Sorry you had a trade gone bad. I have traded several times with different people with no problems. Maybe this is what it will take to have Saraak make it right. :(

I'm sorry you feel that way. Has she told you that she didn't send it? please don't take this the wrong way but I work in customer service and people are often thinking that since they have not received their package we must not have sent it. I tell them just because you don't have it yet does not mean we did not send it. Sometimes the mail is slow and I hope that's the case here and your oatmeal will arrive soon.

i sent out three different packages to three different people on the same day priority mail and everyone got them in two days If she would have sent it priority mail last Monday then I would have gotten it. I shipped her stuff two weeks ago and waited for two weeks before writing this.If she was unable to make the trade then she should have stated this and I would have held off on sending her the cappucino. She did not fullfil her end of the transaction.

I'm sorry that happened to you :( It happened to another friend of mine here on the forum too. Since it happened to her, I've stopped trading. I just traded again for the first time in months.

I have traded a few times, but always successful. When I trade, I pay the extra 50 cents and get delivery confirmation. That way, I can provide the recipient with the tracking number so they can track the progress of the package, and I have some proof that I did actually mail the package. It is scarey, though, to think of sending out your stuff to a complete stranger and maybe they will and maybe they won't send out your stuff.

I can understand how frustraiting it is when you are trying to help eachother out and the food is a bit costly. Keep in mind that the people on the other side of the computers have lives, and sometimes things happon unexpectedly, that just throw their whole lives into a tail spin. Before you start saying this person is unreliable, perhaps you should give them a chance to defend themselves. You don't know what is happoning in their personal life, if there was a family emergancy or some other problume that really did prevent them from getting to the post office. It has only been 2 weeks, I wouldn't say that is a major breach of contract. An anoyance, yes, but not a reason to go and call someone dishonest and smear their reputation.

Just my two cents...

Have you sent her another PM? I know that in the past I have made trades and then gotten so caught up I totally forgot but I always PM'd the people to let them know. I really hope she comes through for you!

I have PM'd her repeatedly and no response. I also noticed that she has not posted since April 11, 2006. I feel like I am being blown off. Aphreal, you are being awfully defensive for someone you don't know. I realize things come up that turn peoples lives upside down. I am a prime example of that. I was working for SC Johnson for 4 and 1/2 years and was wrongfully terminated on Thursday for unjust reasons. I am a single mother with two children. This is my last month on MF and every little bit will help so the fact that I came through 2 weeks ago and she didn't is really upsetting.

Hi again Angel...

I'm really sorry you lost your job. I know this must be a very scary time for you. I just noticed you live in WI too! You're about 120 miles from me, but if you have any plans to head north this month, I can meet you and spot you some suppliments :)

That is so sweet musicalmomma. Unfortunately I don't plan on making any trips up North. I am not much of a traveler and everything I need is within 5 -10 min driving distance. I have been praying a lot and am just trying to stay positive. I went from making $22.00 an hour and being financially secure for my two kids to being unemployed. Just like MF i can only take this one day at a time. Your generous offer is greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Angel~ I am so sorry for you. I was a single mom with 3 kids for 10years and I know how hard it is.

I was wondering if you have checked to see if she has read your pms yet or if she is avoiding them all together.

If she has not read them they would still be in your outbox if she has they would be in your sent box!

Let me know if I can do anything for you

All the PM's were in my Sentbox.... so she has read them and is just not responding. Oh well, lesson learned. Thanks all for your comments and others for your generousness. It means a lot and I can't help but wonder if I was meant to start MF when I did so that I would stumble upon this forum when I did and therefore would have the support I needed to go through my job loss. He works in mysterious ways and I will take whichever way they come. Have a great day all.
