I'm back

Postby worldawind » June 4th, 2007, 9:51 am

Well those of you who know about my funny lips and tongue problem, I've decided to come back. I've been off of it for three weeks and I'm still having the same problem so how can it be MF. My doctor hasn't found anything and I think if it was the MF it would have shown up in my blood even though I do have a high calcium number which I never had before. I'm waiting for the result I should have in a few hours.

I have been lucky before I've continued to lose while I was off. Watched and was very careful.

I just wish this dumb problem would go away. :(

To my Dry Lip Partner

Postby worldawind » June 7th, 2007, 5:46 am

I was able to keep losing. I spoke with the nurse and my health advisor and we decided I should keep to a low carb, high protein program and that's what I did. It wasn't easy in the respect that I wasn't ready for transition but I was able to keep losing about 1 pound a week.

At this point I'm still having problems but not as severe and to be honest I don't care. I've lost 30 and I'm determined to finish. As long as I'm not in a serious situation, I'm sticking with MF.

You have to let me know what your doctor says. I hope you don't have an allergy.

Hi there....
Well.. i guess the good news is, my doctor didn't pull me off MF.... i told him about the rash and dry lips.. all he asked was if i was putting chapstick.. i told him i am using aquafor (not sure if i'm even spelling it right) and he told me to let him know if it gets worse... its actually getting better... the rash seems to be slight now but lips are still dry... I feel your pain.. its so annoying... but i told him i was panicked at the thought of having an allergy.. and he just shook his head as if to say "you don't" I'm with you.. i only lost 12 so far but i still can't give up on MF... If i had to come off, i really would be in trouble... I told my doctor... I'll live with the puffy lips.. i can't come off this program!.... Let me ask you... when did your dry lips start? Try to see if it gets worse over the next couple of weeks while your back on the program... (of course i'm praying it doesn't for you) hey.. do you take any prescription medications? could it be an interference with the soy from the shakes? but wait.. you said it was the same even when you were off... maybe protein?? I'm sure your doctor would have figured that out.. but i'm just trying to think of all possiblities... Do your eyes get dry too? Just thinking back.. I know someone that had very dry mouth and dry eyes...I remember her always having tic tacs..... for the life of me i can't remember what it was attributed to, but i'll find out this weekend and let you know... can't hurt... In the meantime... just know your not alone :)

I'm so glad you are not allergic. My case is a bit worse in that my tongue got involved and for awhile nothing had a taste but the metallic taste coupled with the dryness inside my lips made it intolerable. It is slowly getting better and for that I am thankful. I went back on last week and it hasn't gotten worse.

Tomorrow I am having an endoscopy procedure to see if my stomach is involved in any way. If that's not it I don't know what it is but I'm not stopping this program. I finally found something that works and as long as it is not harmful, I'm going to keep going.

Well first... I'm so so so so glad that you are finally seeing some relief, even if its only a little :clapclap: Second.. no worser of symptoms and your back on the program a week... sounds awsome so far!!! ( I know what you mean.. I know i've stated this before, but, I too can NOT come off this program... It's my last hope and it works!!) Endoscopy tomorrow... OK... I'll be thinking of you.. I just hope they find the problem and fix it!! Not sure if your online now and you may not read this until after your procedure, but, have you ever had an endoscopy before? If not.. don't worry.. i actually have not had one myself, but my husband had 3, my cousin 2, mom 2.. and all have the same outcome "not bad, they knock you out, wake up, and your done!" ooh, they always gave juice and toast!! ask for sugar free jello instead!! ha ha But seriously, i truly hope they can help you and if this doesn't resolve the problem, at least you know we're here to help you through as long as it takes... Try to write and let us know as soon as you can... good luck! Lisa
