All these spammers are getting pretty inventive with their jokes before the spam. As much as spammers annoy me*I run a website for my hubby and his offroad pals..so I know how pesky they can be* I get a chuckle outta some of the jokes. :lol:

I still think we should not allow guests to post. That would solve the problem.

It's frustrating to me to think I'm opening a message from one of my MF buddies and then I see some troll spam on the boards. Yuck!

ITA Beach baby. Most of the time I can tell when it is spam but some of them are just annoying.

Guests can't post anymore other than in the "Come on in" forum.

I started that about 2 weeks ago. Now I'm busy removing them from registering, which they didn't do before.

No way to beat 'em, really.... :roll:

On our board we make people register in order to see any of the forums except the Welcome one. Some ppl do not like it because they cant "test it out" but I think since we started making it a requirement we have maybe 1 or 2 spammers a month.

I know that alot of ppl lurk here and that is one reason not to require registration though.

If a guest can't even see the forums, they'll keep on going.

Lucky if you get 10% of them to mess around with registering if they can't see the content.

Yea thats what I figured.

Guess we will have to weather the spammers as best we can.
