I am jumping into the "pool" here so to speak. My name is Cate I am 38 years young and I am 5'10 and weighed in at 250lbs when I first started Medifast. At 250lbs I was at my heaviest - ever. I never had a weight problem before and in less than three years I gained 100lbs. I was truely in denial. As my clothes got tighter I became depressed and I ate more. The more I ate - the bigger I got, it was a vicious and cruel cycle. I began to see the collateral damage as my husband and five year old son began picking up on my habit of "comfort eating". My General Prac. doctor first placed me on Meridia and a low fat diet - nothing happened. Then my OBGYN diagnosed me with PCOS and suggested Medifast (along with BC pills and Metformin ) for six months. I haven't looked back since.........so here are my photos I want to share with you. I have one at my heaviest (note the strategy of placing child in front of hips & belly) and the other two are right before my massive weight gain.

I so know how you feel. The 100# weight gain, the neverending viscious cycle of eating, weight gain, depression, then more eating! We are here for ya!! You look great in your pics. Keep posting, and we want updated photos as you go. I know, I know, I haven't posted an updated photo since I started, and one is far overdue. Going to take care of that soon!! Glad to "see" you.

Cate, you are so pretty! I am going to try to go to the meeting this Thursday,at Catle hospital. You should try an make it. They have a really cool scale they weigh you on, it prints out what all makes up your weight, like body fat%, muscle%, water%. I really need to go. Hope to see you there.Oh, gorgeous family as wll!

Thank you all for the warm support! Instead of answering all your "PM"s I will list the answers (in case you were thinking but too shame to ask):

1. Yes, those are sea lions behind us (I felt as big as them)

2. That was our second Wedding ceremoney (We eloped ten years ago!)

3. Yes, that was a magazine cover for a local company here in Hawaii (my husband Shingo and I were models not too long ago - he even appears in the movie Pearl Harbor).

4. My son's name is Koshin (it means "bright dragon" in japanese) and he is five years old.

Just a personal note, my husband gave me permission to post his "fat" picture and he has pledged to take control of his eating as well!

Hola! I was stationed on Oahu for 3 years..My son was born over at Tripler Army Medical Center

He came out so dark, my hubby said that I baked him at the beach

:)

Miss Hawaii at times and my kids want to go and see Hawaii...they don't remember it at all..isn't that a shame?
