I think you may be a little too late...today was the end of the run for Cleveland. The next closest place is Toronto in October.

Day 87

Monday...start of a new week. My weekend was good....I ate compliant foods, but I know that portion size was not to the letter of the Medifast guidelines. But hey! they are guidelines right? Anyway...it was still a loss of 2.5lbs for the week. I will take it and move on to this week and concentrate a little more on portion control and compliancy. I have weighed myself for the last time this week...well maybe I have...I am really going to make an effort to not being obsessive with the scale and what I weigh in any given 4 to 8 hour period of time. Maybe I should pay a pentance if I do step on the scale. Like do 10 sit-up's everytime I get on the scale....or spend 5 extra minutes on the treadmill...scratch that I don't have an extra 3 hours in my day to devote to the treadmill. Anyway...I still think I am on to something here. I just need to find the right "Hail Mary" to pay my pentance with.

Random Thoughts...

When it rains...chances are your windows are open, and you are no where near them.
I am eating way too much fish...in the last week I have had halibut, sea bass, grouper, tuna and salmon.
There are days I feel that I am swimming in the shallow end of the gene pool and the lifeguard is not on duty.
Hey I lost 2.5 lbs last week

That means....

My muffin tops are shrinking!

There is a long story and short story...neither of which the gov't agency with the 3 initials that I can neither admit or deny that I work for will allow me to elaborate on.

Hmm...another untold story.

I had the most fun of the day reading your journal.... and thankfully my muffintops ARE shrinking! I don't see how you actually are able to organize those random thoughts... for me once I have 'em, they are gone :nutz:
Anyhow, I look forward to more.

Shadow, I'm with you on the weighing thing... what's the point of weighing after you drink water and eat. I only weigh after I get up and get rid of any excess mass that my body might need to get rid of.

Day 88

Tuesday....possibly the worst day of the week.....At least for me it is. Monday's I can deal with...the start of the week, have a good outlook, going to be productive at work....get things done at home. By Friday I am going to have so much accomplished. Then....Tuesday comes and all of the momentum has evaporated and the enthusiasm of Monday morning is nowhere insight and it looks as if Friday may never come. Okay....I know...it sounds a little dour...I am just a little salty this morning because my scale betrayed me sometime during the middle of the night. I went to bed weighing 264 fully expecting to wake-up this morning 263 or less...but no. What did I see when I got on the scale? An increase to 265! My neighbors don't know how close they came to finding a digital scale in their backyard...along with some broken glass from my bathroom window. I was more than a little peeved....since I was extremely compliant yesterday! I had my 100oz. of water....actually more. 3 shakes a bar and a L&G that was probably less than compliant. Let me digress a little about my L&G yesterday. I took a client to lunch yesterday at a restaurant that I have eaten at before...In the past before MF I would order a sandwich...normally some sort of turkey wrap and make sure that I ordered the obligatory side of low-fat, calorie-free french fries to round out my menu selection. I have also been there while on MF and ordered a very compliant and filling Caesar salad with grilled shrimp. Yesterday the special was Chilean Sea Bass with a strawberry mango salsa served over lemon grass rice. Since everything but the sea bass was decidedly un-compliant I asked if I could make some modifications to hold the fruit salsa and substitute broccoli for the rice. What I got was a filet of fish that was probably the size of a deck of cards perched rather delicately on 4 medium (and I am being generous here) sized sprigs of steamed broccoli. It was certainly well within portion control in fact I am fairly confident that it was well under the L&G guidelines by a fair margin. For $14.99 I was expecting a tad more! Don't these people know I only eat once a day! I mean like Gawsh! Anyway... back to the scale...so as you can see, after a compliant day and a midnight weigh-in of 264....you can imagine what sort of expletives were coming out of my mouth this morning. Nothing more sightly than an overweight naked man, muffin tops in full glory, standing on a scale, and dropping F bombs at 6:00AM. I am certain at that point my dog felt that she was higher on the intelligence chain than humans.

Random thoughts....

Chef School 101 don't serve small portions on large plates...it looks rather ridiculous.
Has anyone tried putting sliced cucumbers and lemon in their water? It is better than it sounds.
Has anyone ever cut bait and run? Where did that saying ever come from?
Word of the day on my calendar is saturnine....It befits me this fine Tuesday.

Regardless what my scale reads....

My muffin tops are shrinking!

YES! We had cucumber water on vacation and it was amazingly refreshing. I'm gonna make it for my next party because it looks so good in a clear pitcher. Haven't tried it with lemon, too, but assume that would be good.

"You CAN'T be seroius here," says she, Princess of Gullible Valley. Well, ok, if you're asking for the specific episode that started the saying, you're right. Haven't a clue. Although, Jonah and the Whale come to mind. Except they weren't fishing. (ramblings by the Court Fragment and Co.)

As for having done it, yep and am planning on cutting a few more lines in the very near future, professionally (not you, honey, if you're reading this  ). But my moves won't be nearly as grand as most of the top brass in my district cutting and running as we were drug (dragged?? I teach math now) through the mud rather publicly for needing a $60 million dollar bail-out from the State (yes, children, that's 7 zeros after the 6). I'm still more than a decade or 2 away from retirement, so that wasn't an option. Was quite spectacular, especially since, as a district level administrator myself, I literally had a front row seat and got dragged at least knee high into the mud along with them.

As far as muffin tops, I'll admit that it's kinda cool just to HAVE them!! And the thought that they're SHRINKING....(head spins, small pop, everything freezes, princess faints)
Here's to our mutual success! :buddies: --Diana

Could it possibly be time for Aunt Flo to visit?? You know, sometimes around her visit we tend to "hold on" to extra water!!
