What do you do instead of eating?

Postby fairladyj » February 26th, 2007, 5:34 pm

I've found my hobby of jewelry making a real help with staying OP - it's hard to eat when you are busy!

I make fused glass and wire-wrapped and other types of jewelry, mostly in sterling silver, but sometimes use other metals such as copper and bronze. I mostly use silver, since that is what sells the best in my area. I don't sell too much, but try to "break even" - at least that's my goal. I have been at this about 1 yr - far from an expert at any of it.

I would be glad to share pictures with anyone who may be interested in seeing.

Mostly I just try not to think about it - which gets easier the longer I am compliant, except for the odd craving here and there.

I get online - I spent the weekend getting my own business caught up - I clean up the house (not my favorite diversion) - go to bed early - watch tivo-ed shows. That's about my full repertoire.

I cook (I know that's wierd) for my husband. I read and will sometimes go to the bookstore to do it/get out of the house. I use the board here, I also use the go to bed early trick. It really does work and I find the more sleep I get the more weight I lose. Plus the hospital keeps me very busy. I use water and the dreaded diet soda also to stop myself from eating. Those are my best tricks.

I LOVE puzzles. But I can't do them - we have cats and the pieces would disappear forever. I had one of those roll-up mats, but no space to roll it out and do the puzzle - then with the baby - forget it!

Someday I hope to have a room in my dream house where I can have a puzzle table, and just keep the door closed and cats out of there. I miss them (puzzles). But I love furry things more.

Hi, there's a website, Etsy *dot* com, that showcases handmade stuff and lets you set up your online store. Check it out next time you're thinking about selling your jewelry, it sounds really pretty :)

With me, I mostly go online to distract myself, watch TV, or even *gasp* smoke :P

I'm in the process of photographing some of the newer stuff - I will probably post in a Webshots album - I'll post a link here when I'm done.

Thanks
