Hi Lexy! Jon and I have ordered the Grilled Chicken Ceasar w/ Light Balsamic Vinagrette dressing, in a pinch! I wouldn't do this often, because there really isn't 7oz of chicken and there is some parmesan cheese on it. BUT, in a pinch it will do.

ALSO, you can get those vacuum packed chicken or tuna and put that on a couple of side salads with the light dressing.

Don't mix suppliments and salad. Keep the suppliments seperate from the L & G.

Hope that helps :)

You're doing great!

Don't go to McDonald's at all, unless there is absolutely NOTHING else around and you need to eat. You should go to a regular restaurant, they will have your L&G, even if it isn't on the menu all you have to do is ask.

For example: Steakhouse: Get the 6 ounce sirlon (leanest meat), it shrinks some so it may not be the full 5 ounce portion we are allowed after cooking, but it's close. Get a side of steamed broccoli, no butter, OR a salad no cheese or croutons and fat-free or low-cal dressing on the side. If it comes with both you can eat half of one and half of the other, I have done that.

Regular restaurant: Grilled chicken breast (7 oz) with no added oil, steamed veggies and no rice.

Chinese restaurant or buffet: Ask the waiter/waitress to bring you 7 ounces of steamed chicken and veggies at a buffet, I did this they are happy to help you out, really! Chinese restaurant NO noodles or rice! Just eat the plainest meat you can find and steamed veggies.

Stop hitting the fast food places, they are the reason America is fat! You will adjust to it, you are doing great so far! :D

I would choose Wendy's over McDonald's for drive-thru, they have a better selection of salads.

Unca...I just watched that movie the other day! I want to watch it every so often to keep me straight about fast food.

I say pack your lunch in lunch box . Stop and pee...grab a diet pop and get back on the road.I would just stop at a convinant store and use the bathroom there .That way you won't be tempted with the smell of fries.

Stay Strong My friend

I was going to say the same thing Unca did. A bottle of water. If you're on the road, why not bring your supplements along? They're faster than a drive-through.

Hey Unca, that movie put me OFF fast food forever...no kidding! I haven't eaten fast food hamburgers (or fries) for the (2 years?) since I saw it. The only hamburgers and fries I'll eat are homemade....and I won't be eating them for a loooooooonnnnng time.

Lexy

I agree with all of the above. I can only add that the secret :secret: to being successful on the Medifast program is "BE PREPARED"!

I have to stop and go to the restroom all the time and the thing I like about McDonalds is the restroom is usually to the right of the door. You don't even have to go where the food is. So you can head to the restroom and then right back out the door. I don't look back and I even hold my breath when I go in the door.

I know that you can take a small cooler with you and take some lean meat even from the deli with you. I just found a deli that lets me buy just the meat. I take it to go all the time.

Hope this helps!!

Hi, Pashta is so right. We are a fast food nation! Some of us are here, definitely I am , because of the ease and convenience of fast food restaurants and, as for me, my laziness at preparing good healthy food for myself, in the past, but not anymore! It is not to say that we will never be able to impulsively swing into a fast food lane, ever again. But, speaking for myself, I am in no hurry to do that, for it got me to this forum in the first place... that and the famous word, 'Super-size'. I hope that I will always have the same committment to eating healthy, good food, once goal is reached. Many people can handle fast food joints, but I know me, and I cannot. :D

Lexy,

We also travel alot. :drive: Someone else said it, but the secret is to BE PREPARED! Pack your "Ready to drink" shakes, a MF bar, waters, ooh! - those vacuum packed bags of tuna are wonderful (someone mentioned them too), you can even make your own salad and keep everything in a small cooler (again - mentioned). :D

If you HAVE to stop on the road to eat and you don't have any MF with you ~ a regular restaurant or diner would accommodate you better than fast food places :bib: But I have children and an (at times) impatient husband who prefers "Mickey D's" when traveling to stopping at a sit down restaurant ... I would order the Asian salad with chicken and whatever fat free or low fat dressing they have (honestly, I would order two and put all the chicken together in one (no way is there 7oz of chicken in one! ...more like 3 or 4 ozs)... and I'd opt for water over pop (although diet pop will do). :beerbeer:

Don't have a MF shake WITH your meal ... they are not to be combined with the "Lean & Green" ... have your shake about two hours before or after (I always have a MF shake or other supplement about 2 hrs before my L&G ... I find I feel fuller then and not tempted to eat any more than I am allowed).

this may seem like a difficult program ~ but it really is EASIER than any other program out there to follow (and stick too!).

YOU CAN DO THIS! :whoohoo:

After a few weeks you'll be an old pro at this ~ you'll see! ~ you'll be thinner and feeling so much healthier. Remember, we are all family here and here for you whenever you need encouragement :goteam:

I have to say the RTD and bars saved me last weekend. I work 2 - 12 hour shifts on weekend nights. The only open restaurant is a Mc D & Waffle House  . I take more supplements than my allotment & figure if I have an extra it's WAY better than anything at McD's. It's really hard sometimes to drive on by when I'm starving at 2am, so I try to stay prepared and pack my lunch pack full of RTD, a bowl, bottle of water, pudding mix, bars, pickles, celery and a bag of MF crackers. It's a bigger cooler than a lunch bag, but WHO CARES!!! I know everything in there is good for me and can reach into that bag as I cruise on by McD's.

Good for you Momjackielee

And now Medifast introduced a new snack this week that you can add to your stash you take in the car. They are Soy Crisps! They come in 3 flavors: Apple Cinnamon, Ranch and White Cheddar. They are a snack so you can have one a day and it does not count as your 5 & 1.

I am so excited about getting mine. Nancy is in Baltimore at the TSFL office and she got to sample them this week. She emailed me that they are delicious! I placed my order today so that I would have them at the Beach with me next week.

Being prepared is the best way to be Successful!!!!

Why do you feel that you have to have anything? Don't even go to the counter to even order a water, it will only tempt you to order something else. Go to the bathroom, pee, order water at the sink to wash your hands and leave. Pick up a straw on your way out the door get back in your car and enjoy your shake!!!
