I'm not being vindictive, I'm being honest. If I come off as a jerk, it's probably because I am one.

Also, the word is "ridiculous".

to be honest, there's nothing vindictive about mr a's post. in fact, i took his (sort of) advice and broke a 22 day plateau. then i kept it up and have dropped 9 lbs in about 10 days.

and i know boys lose faster than girls, but since we're all here for the same reason, it makes sense not to toss away the opinion of someone who has lost 90 lbs. then again, i've lost 139 if i include the pre-mf lard, and i don't know jack. well, that isn't true. i know that empty calories never make sense when you are trying to lose weight. but, i'll just shut up and try to hit the #40 mark this week and eat my alternative bar and like it.

Awesome, I'm glad for you!!!
I have lost approx. 70 #'s myself, only the last 17 being with MF. I agree it's a great program. Let's spread the love.

Can't we all just get along? I think the issue was Manly basically telling her she's going to fail (or that's how she perceived it). Not nice, and not necessarily true.

I've done my share of off-plan eating and substitutions. Whether it's slowed me down is debatable (and doubtful; even when I follow the plan 100 percent, I lose at the same slow rate), but do you really doubt that I'm going to reach my goal now that I'm 7 pounds away from it? I don't.

And please, please don't start pointing out people's misspellings. I'm a copy editor and I have to routinely overlook errors in spelling and grammar here. Correcting someone's English on a board like this is seriously uncool.

I always correct spelling, it's what I do. When someone calls my statements "rediculous", it's only fair that I point out the spelling error.

Plus, she kind of annoys me, so I was being a jerk.

In the immortal words of my annoying next door neighbor...that's how I roll.

Welllll ... if you really want to play, the comma belongs INSIDE the quotes. Please don't start this.

So noted. I've always sucked with commas.

Thanks for your vote of confidence, but I've got my feet grounded. Suffice it to say, I won't respond further to this rediculous banter...

Yep, seems to be the way a lot of people "roll" these days. Can't stand it myself. Persoanlly I'm tired of all the high and mighty crap.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

Start Weight 326.7 ~ My short term goal will put me at 250!

Started June 19th 2008. First Mini Goal 76.7 pounds.

Okay, now for my 2 cents. First, in response to the original post... I think folks gave ChubNoMore good advice. You gotta decide what you want... and change things up. I still love the statement about Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.
Then, in response to, or defense of Manly/Ascicles, he is who he is and if anybody has been here for any amount of time, they know he just says what he thinks without really caring how someone feels. I actually enjoy reading his thoughts because they typically are straight at you.
At the same time, Caligirl said she didn't suggest having the bars as a good thing to do. We just need to make sure that having them is in no way MF plan approved.
That said, given the whole gist of this thread, you do what ya gotta do.... and sometimes if that means changing things up for your own plan... so be it. Just don't suggest that others do the same, and I don't think anybody has.

Low after WLS 300

Previous MF low 280
Restart MF 330
