water

Postby JanTx » November 30th, 2004, 7:28 pm

In another thread I was reading about water - how important it is. Someone else wrote about how much they DON'T like to drink water and that's me. Just don't like the stuff. So ... here's what I do:

Sprinkle a little Crystal Light in there to flavor it.

Set goals - 16 oz before 10 AM, 16 more before lunch. etc.

While I'm in the kitchen I drink 16 oz. (I'm on 5+1 so still fix a meal.)

I reuse 16-oz water bottles - I've written numbers on the lids and know I have to make it through 4 of them at least.

I start out at work (school) with ice and 16 oz in a mug. That's gone by 10 AM so I dump my shake in on the same ice. Then when that's gone I dump another water bottle in on that same ice again and it's flavored by the shake. (Good with the vanilla - not so good with the chocolate.) I rinse it all out at lunch and start with fresh ice and drink that mug-full with my soup at lunch. Then another mug for the afternoon.

Now - I'm a NEW Newbie so that's pretty basic for the rest of you, I'm sure. Got more ideas for how to get that water down - especially when you REALLY don't like it?

(Of course, all this still has me struggling to fit in a rest room break among the 7 classes I teach before lunch, but so far I've managed without too much trouble.)

You've established some good ways to slug it down, Girl!

I have two bottles of water in my car at all times (and more in the trunk).

I drink one bottle of water on my trip :redprowl: away from home
and the other on my :veedub: return trip -
no matter how far I travel - my personal rule is to suck one (minimum) down! :water:

Like you, I usually add some water to my shaker jar or shake mug and drink it - I call it 'pale ale.'

It certainly is watered down but having some sort of flavor helps to get it down - I mix, nuke and :eat: eat my Medioatmeal right from the jar and then fill the jar with water, swish and slurp.

:hmmm: Ahh...slurp 'n burp.

:shades: It may sound gross but it works for me - keeps me slender and my tummy filled.

:toast: Here's to ya, Kid!

:byebye: Buh bye 180's...

The scale was actually 178.5 this morning, but ... I've been so indoctriinated against weighing every day that I don't like to report that I did. I'm STILL going to weigh often - I'm a chart-making, number-keeping freak - but I don't like to report it.

Ahhhh ... a kindred spirit! I KNEW I was going to like this place!

I can judge how I'm doing by how I avoid or live on the scale. When I start avoiding it - there's a reason. Right now I might as well carry it around with me from room to room. You never know what instant that next 1/10 will fall away!

How comfortable this forum is! Thanks!

Jan,

I was never a water drinker either, in fact, once I'd finished off at least a pot of coffee in the morning, I didn't drink anything - nothing - the rest of the day except occasionally a half glass of water or something like diet soda with supper.

Water has been my biggest challenge so I came up with a rule. I must drink 1 bottle of water between each shake and one after my last shake of the day, before bed. Sometimes I get busy, realize it's shake time and I haven't finished my bottle yet so I chug it down, have my shake and fill the bottle up again.

I start the day with a fresh bottle, but refill it throughout the day and my "reward" at the end of the day is chucking that bottle in the trash! Over and over in my head, I keep chanting "Water is my friend, water is my friend".
