First of all...thanks for the support guys, it really helps.

Day 12 and I am feeling really good. Still having good blood sugars and even got to lower my insulin dosage. I'm not really hungry anymore..sometimes I even have to MAKE myself get my 5 supplements in every day. I like that :) I still think I am eating too much protein, but I guess we will see if it gets me on weigh in day. I think because of my sugar levels I need a bit more sometimes. With everything going on with my job (and those around me)....it amazes me that I haven't CHEATED. Wall Street is not the most stable place to work these days..UGH.

Oh well, that's all I've got today....going to watch the market go to Zero.

Ugh. Don't even joke about that. Although they were saying on the news that it might finally be bottoming out. I sure hope so.

Right now I'm just glad I have a fair number of years between me and retirement. And no kids to put through college.

Cindy - I am so happy that things are going so well with you and MF. Keep up the good work. I am amazed that you work on Wall Street - you go girl!! Hopefully this financial mess will be cleaned up soon - but I am not betting anything on that.

Day 13---I've been thinking about the "3's". I think I might be a victim of the "2's". My second day was the hardest and I think my weightloss for this second week will be minimal. I'm not giving up though.....I had PERFECT blood sugars this morning and I hadn't even had my shot yet! RAH!!!!!

If I can make it through this week without cheating, I think I'm good.

I am going back to watch the market go to ZERO. It's what I do.

Cindy,

You can do it... I know you can. Let me tell you... the feeling you get when you drop down into the next size is a heck of alot better than that food you are tempted by. Besides, you can keep wearing the clothes... the food is gone before you know it.

YOU CAN DOOOOO IT (saying it in my best New York accent) :)

Have a great day and keep up the good work,

Smarti

I know it feels better to lose than to eat...we just have to stay with it.

Cindy,

You have done a great job. Look at how great your sugar levels have been. Even if the scale is going down slow - you have a right to celebrate. I know several people who are diabetic and keeping their sugar levels at the right level and keeping them there is a hard task. Look how great you are doing..... :cleader:

You are even doing this during the worse financial disaster our country has seen in a long time and you are on the front lines....YOU GO GIRL!!

Thanks for the support Suzi :)

Wow...I just had an "event". I was sitting on the trading desk and passed smooth out. I work with an old boyfriend and he knew what was happening. My sugar was too low! Anyway, I woke up and he was shoving a Nutrigrain bar into my mouth and I had to drink 3 drinks from a real coke. I'm fine now, but I sure do hope it didn't mess me up. I'm glad my sugar was lower, but not that low!! Guess I need to lower my insulin AGAIN. Bad way to do it, but glad it's lower.

Oh no....I am glad you are okay. At least you had somebody there to help you. You may need to meet with your doctor to figure out the right course of action.

Please take care of yourself.

Wow! I'm glad you are OK!!! Maybe you should check with your doctor to make sure you don't need to modify the program a bit if your blood sugars are getting too low. That's not good.

As far as the New York accent, my best friend is from New York and he's constantly trying to get me to get the accent right. I do have fagitabutit down pretty good. He tells me that my personality and attitude is definitely New York.... he says I was a New Yorker in a different life haha.

Wow. Scary incident, but I'm glad someone there knew what to do. I know you've been working with your doc on the insulin already, so I hope it just means they need to adjust something a little more. I assume you check it regularly, but maybe you need to check it more often for a little while.

I had 2 more low sugar incidents over the weekend. I haven't taken one drop of insulin, so it's all about what I am eating...or should I say, NOT eating. LOL I didn't pass out this time, but I did eat some peanut butter. Just a bit, though. I lost 4 pounds last week, so I guess all is well. I am checking my sugar several times a day so I will be A-ok.

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday....and you all know what I'm off to do now (market-Zero).

That's wonderful that you lost 4 pounds. But those sugar spells are something to be concerned with. Please be careful.

Day 17 - - I feel so fat today. Yesterday I wore jeans a size smaller and they were a little tight and today I think I'm having "fiber" issues. I am going to stick to it and muddle my way through. Work is stressing me out (is the market EVER going to go up? will my firm make it? will i have a job?). Anyway, today feels like a Monday, but I will not eat to feel better.

Good for you Cindy for making the decision that you will not eat to make you feel better. The food would only give you satisfaction for a short moment, then you would need go through the first three days...for me it was the first 6 days.

I hope things improve for you on the work front. I know it's hard to stay positive.
