Gavin~ thanks for posting the pics. When I see the faces of those I am "chatting" with, it makes it more real.

You are going to do great. You have a fabulous attitude and a great sense of humor.

I laughed at your post - actually you aren't far from the truth - here in China I am always getting peple coming up and rubbing my belly - it is considered good luck to rub the Buddhas belly. We thought a great way of raising money for charity would be to have me sitting out in monks robes somewhere and selling a rub for a few dollars hahahahah

Everytime we take our dog Diesel to the Mall or near the Capitol tourists ask to take pictures with her because shs looks like a police dog and is well, exceptionally beautiful, of course. More than once, my husband has joked about charging for a picture with the dog!

Holy Shhhmokes, Gavin!! You could be part of my family (34 nieces and nephews with #35 on the way!).

Also, just a word of caution. There is a forum member here with whom I believe you should have absolutely NO CONTACT. I checked this thread from the beginning and to my great relief she had no input here. She is completely lovely, but please stay away from her to avoid a Medi-OOOPS. Her "handle," as you call it is: Fertile Myrtle. I think you can see why I think the two of you should avoid each other at all costs!!

Hi Sojourner,

Yes - I was rolling on the floor laughing as well hehehehe - I shall definitely stay well away from this No Go Area - could see me in all sorts of trouble both home and abroad hehehehe.

Kind regards

Gavin

How right you are my friend. I have been fat all of my life and I actually had either gotten used to or just ignored how others looked at me. It wasn't until I met my wife, Diana, and she pointed out to me how people commented behind my back and gave weird looks that I really started to make note of it myself.

When I finished my education and started applying for teaching jobs, I didn't get hired until the week before school started. Many times people equate being fat with being stupid, when realistically, it is those people that think this way who are the true dummies.

After I had lost alot of weight (160 lbs) and looked "more normal", I applied for teaching jobs, and I was actually given the option to take every one that I applied for. A big difference from when I went looking for jobs when I was 160 lbs heavier. So this goes to show, just as a couple of small examples, how shallow people can be.

The realization is there though, and thankfully so, that there are those who can and do look past the size and see the true gems that lie inside the person that sits before them.

Again, welcome to the forum, welcome to the journey, and I wish you well with your endeavor.

I'm only halfway to 6 kids, people!! I just had them incredibly close together! And if it makes you feel any better, my hubs has vetoed having a fourth. Took me awhile to accept it, but then I thought--hey thats one less C-Section, and 25 less pounds to lose!

Nice pics, Gavin. Good luck on your Medi-journey. I am going to read up for some inspiration!
