Well, here we go! With much optimism and prayer, I plan to be the incredible shrinking woman! I'm 6 days into my journey and I'm down 10 pounds. Not a bad start.

I've decided that for every 50 pounds I lose (I've got 277 to lose), I'm getting a jewelry charm to go on the bracelet that I'll get when I make goal. I'm a jewelry lover, so I look forward to making my purchases! That's 6 charms (I round UP  .) and a bracelet.

My hubby couldn't figure out my ticker...it's a ferocious dog chasing a bone. However, my ticker is so long that the dog is cut off! As I lose, you'll see the dog come into the picture. ;)

Time to get a bar and a bottle of water! Until next time.... :chef:

Shake shake shake, shake shake shake, shake that shaker!

You're doing great! I love the bracelet and charm idea. At the end, you'll have a beautiful reminder of all of your weighloss journey... that's awesome! :bigidea:

Thanks for your support. It's the end of week 1 for me, and officially, I'm down 12 pounds! I could've probably done better, as I'm liberal with veggies and protein (not TOO liberal, mind you) but maybe I'll be a little more cautious this week as to my measurements on those items--I don't really have an excuse! Being the cooks that my hubby and I are, we have a great digital scale to use....

Now, gotta get at least 5 bottles of water down today.... :water:

Keep up the superb shaking! :ukulele:

Oh my goodness! Dinner can't get here fast enough today! I just wonder if TOM has that big of an effect on appetite. I never really noticed, because before, I ate all the time regardless!

I'm working late tonight, so I'm SO looking forward to a chef salad from this local restaurant that I know will do it right... I've been romancing it all day long!

Happy shaking....

I was just reading in the Maintenance Forum about dealing with all the emotional "stuff" that comes with dieting. Oh my goodness. Just thinking about this makes me break out in a cold sweat! The idea of dealing with emotional issues just is beyond my comprehension (especially at this very moment while I listen to my 9 month old throw a royal temper-tantrum!).

Do I go back and try to figure it all out? I mean, go back to the recesses of my mind and analyze the moments directly after birth, or just how, as an adult, I need to overcome all those little negative messages that are constantly streaming through my brain?

This is the ONLY goal that I have ever set for myself that I have yet to accomplish. Every other life goal has been achieved, over and above what was actually necessary. I'm trying this time around to hit it full-force, as I did getting married, having 2 children, working my way up every career ladder I could, being nationally certified as a sign language interpreter, achieving my Bachelor's in 3 years, my Masters in 1-1/2 (while becoming pregnant and having a baby, working 40+ hours per week until the last 2 weeks of pregnancy)....I say this to say--I can't have it all for naught! I can't have possibly been purposed by God to do all these things, then keel over dead at 32 because of obesity!

If you are reading this, you will see that my emotional roller coaster suddenly spikes the week prior to TOM. I recognize it, accept it, and become a hermit until it passes.

By the way, my salad last night was worth the wait!!

You should be totally proud of yourself for all you have accomplished and are accomplishing. I applaud you!

Feelin your pain on that, I'm the same way.

Keep going, your doing great!

This is pretty bad .... I'm posting twice in a short amount of time. My 9-month old is bouncing furiously in his mega-saucer (which creates obscene amounts of NOISE) and my 5-year old has asked me at least a dozen times, "Mom, can I watch TV?" To which I reply, "NO." Finally, he gets a clue and asks me, "Can Jonathan (his 9-month old brother) watch his TV?" :deadhorse:

This would be about the time where I send the 5 year old to bed so I can eat a slice of pizza or have a grilled cheese sandwich or crackers, or whatever carby/fatty thing I can stuff in my face. :bib: Since I don't have that option tonight, I'm posting. Then, I'm going to put earplugs in my ears to prevent all that auditory stimulation. :muahaha:

Thanks for indulging me.

Thank goodness the pre-TOM stuff is over. I feel a bit more sane today! My son has his first soccer game today, which should be lots of fun (a bunch of 5-year olds--organized chaos!)... I've had a shake, my first 20 oz. of water, and things are going well. I'm retaining horrendous amounts of water, but I'm praying for a huge whoosh at the end. :)

Now to find the sunscreen for me and my incredibly pale family.....

Bear with me folks, I'll probably do this 2 times, maybe more per day when I'm home. It helps me to just gather my thoughts....

Ok, I just read the Medifast Recipes forum. Good stuff...Can't wait to locate and try those Shiritake (sp) noodles, as well as Molly McCheese. I'm one of those rare birds who actually enjoys the "Cream of" soups, but good grief, it was just too dang hot to drink those things in Florida! Now that I'm in Virginia, I'll look forward to having one of those when I get back inside after playing with the kids on the playground at work. I want to try the McCheese sprinkles as a pick-me-up to the soups.

Clint's soccer game went well. He didn't win, but he huffed and puffed his way through it. He may not be the fastest kid, but he sure is dedicated! We are trying very hard to make this way of life his too. I grew up with the "don't eat this, don't eat that, but watch us eat it instead" routine...too hard on a kid's psyche. I want him to feel like we're all getting healthy together and that weight loss is a by-product of taking care of our "temple."

One good thing is he loves the RTD shakes. Occasionally, when he's wanting a snack and begs me for one, I'll let him have it so that he's not asking me for bad stuff. I just don't want him to experience the childhood I experienced in that regard.
