Shirataki Noodles...are they a possibility?

Questions/Comments about Weight loss Products.

Hi there ~

No alcohol is permitted on the weight loss phase so the answer regarding the use of Sake in your recipe for weight loss is nope, not now; later for maintenance.

Remember the serving size for red meat is 5 ounces.

Tofu is fine as a protein substitute for meat. Just remember, the portion size for Tofu is

¼ Block firm Tofu or 1 (one) 2” x 1” piece of soft Tofu

If you are using a combination of sirloin and tofu, make appropriate adjustments to the serving sizes so as to get the proper meal portion.

Well, I tried this tonight and I wasn't that impressed. While it looked like pasta and didn't have a distinctive taste, I simply couldn't get past the texture. It kind of reminded me of chewing on wet rubberbands.

The smell wasn't as bad as I anticipated. In fact, I barely noticed it, even before parboiling it.

I may try it again at some other point, but I don't expect it to be a regular meal.

I made it with chicken and Walden Farms alfredo sauce.

Ascicles, I had to laugh. Rubber bands...there are a lot of things I will do for medifast but rubber bands, not so much. Honestly, another person and I were talking about the noodles after seeing them online and we thought they resembled tape worms. *shudder* Not a great deal of desire to try them, as Im sure you can guess. LOL! I hope noone is creeped out by that, I say if you like them then great! I think I will wait till maintenance though and enjoy my pasta then.

 Uh, no tapeworms shall crawl across my tongue, thank you very much for the heads up on this one.

My nose is definitely up in the air on this one. Thank you for going before us, where no Leopard Woman dares or cares to go!

Have you tried them?

Postby lan » March 22nd, 2006, 6:31 pm

OK, it's been a few days now. Has anyone tried them? How do they taste? Is there any place to order them online?

If you can handle the texture, I think they are perfectly fine. They don't really have a distinctive taste at all.
