Ready to Drink Shakes

Postby Taangrl21 » February 8th, 2007, 3:15 pm

I was thinking of getting these this time around. Do they taste any different and are they 55 or 70?

Hi Debra.

I am in sales so that means I am on the road 2 days a week. And thank god they made these I drink them every tuesday and friday and sometimes when my so has a basketball game far away... They do not taste exactly like the 55 But they are good. I do not know if I would be able to do this diet if they did not make the RTD'S.

I've always preferred them. They're not as filling as the regular shakes, but I find them much creamier. The chocolate, at least. The vanilla ones are repulsive, IMHO. Very strong, very fake vanilla taste.

The convenience is great, though. You can freeze 'em so they're cold later on, if you won't have a place to refrigerate them (I do that on planes sometimes).

I love the chocolate RTD's! They're completely different than the powered shakes. Very creamy and just great when you're in a hurry.

I make the powder shakes with 12 oz water so I can sneak 4 more oz water in to my day; so to answer your question I would not use only RTD's. However, I keep a few in the fridge- so when I am on the run or will be in the car for a few hours, or have a meeting where I can't make a shake, I have my RTD handy. I never tried the vanilla but the chocolate is pretty good- it has a slightly different flavor than the powder- I can't describe the difference well. I guess it tastes a little like a small amount of powdered creamer was added, if that makes sense.

I actually replaced the regular shakes with the chocolate RTD's. I'm with Robin on the Vanilla.
I prefer these over the packets, but have just this week started using the Appetite Suppression shakes to see if they help me.
Di uses the RTD's, but she says she actully likes the packets better.

RTD's just make life even easier than the packets, which is why I switched to them myself.

The chocolate RTDs are way yummy! I'm with Katie on the convenience factor being key, and I'm definitely with Robin and Mike on the grossness of the vanilla (in both RTD and shake form - ptooey!).

The only complaints that I have with them are that they are less filling because they are much smaller, and they only come in 55. So, I just sip them very slowly...and just keep hoping, hoping, hoping that they'll eventually be made in 70s. ;)

How does one sip these. They are too yummy. For me they last 5 minutes if they are lucky ;)
Although, in the summer I freeze them and eat them with a spoon. :eat:

They were the only shakes I'd drink (although I did have soups and oatmeal and pudding and some other stuff when I was on program). I just could never stand the powdered shakes.

If I was having one at home, I'd pour it into my Magic Bullet with some ice and blend it up. That way I had more volume, like with a regular shake.
