Quick Update about me

Postby Nite Izes » September 22nd, 2004, 2:53 pm

Sorry I haven't been around, but I was not able to check in since I was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks and was discharged yesterday. I have only been able to get on line and order my Medifast since the doc said it is good to use with my supervised meals. Right now, I gained weight due to the IV that was given, but the doctors said it will flush out once I get home since it is mostly water. My gastro-intestinal disorder has improved alot and I am glad that is under control.

When I entered the hospital I weighed in at 237 and upon discharge yesterday I weighed 258 lbs, Yup, I gained 11 lbs, but like the doc said it is mostly water from the IV given to me and in a week or so, I will know what my exact weight is. Overall, I am happy because I have lost a grand total of 45 lbs right now and once I get back on Medifast and my regime, I will lose some more. I weighed 303 lbs in January 2004 and hopefully by the end of October I should weigh in at about 230-240 lbs (since there is water weight in me as well). The idea for me is to do it slowly, carefully, with a lot of awareness and avoid gaining weight.

Regarding Medifast and me, since I cannot be on a full liquid program and am on a combination shake and meal program, I still lost weight and did not gained any back, except when I was admitted to the hospital and those 11 lbs are due to the saline and not from eating. So I should optimistic and know, everything will continue as I have my goals set and will beat morbid obesity, get my health back and reach a BMI = 40 real soon. My best to everyone.

Unca, I finally made the 40 club and once this water weight is out of me, hopefully, I will see the 50 club or in my terms the half century club right around the corner. :-P
Take care

Nite Izes -

Thanks for the update - was wondering about you!! Glad you're still game for hanging out here and keeping on working on your loss. Don't despair over them "feeding" you at the hospital, just watch it shake off as you get better. Sounds like a hard two weeks you just had.

So now you should be able to come around more often again, right? I look forward to hearing how you're doing.

So glad to hear from you! Sorry about the hospital stay. I've never been - but I imagine it's crappy.

Nite,

Bless your heart! Wow 2 WEEKS in the hospital! I'm so impressed that you are still committed to your program. Most people feel sorry for themselves having been through so much, and reward themselves with treats, etc. (that would be the OLD me). Glad you've been given the clear sailing signal from your doc, and again, I'm so very impressed with your committment to good health.

Continued improved health to you! :toast:

thanks all

I just got my order today for my ready to drink shakes and am very pleased about it.

I also use the apple cinnamon oatmeal. Has anyone tried it? I have to tell you, it taste very, very delicious and I use that for my breakfast meal. In the afternoon take my shakes and then have low fat, low cal, low carb, high protein dinner and let's not forget to drink a lot of water when you have a chance, it helps cleanse you, prevent dehydration, constipation and helps with your weight loss.

I cannot help it, I just love the oatmeal. I just add 3/4 cups of water, the oatmeal package and warm it up. You can use the stovetop or microwave. It is very filling and has only

110 calories
2g fat
0g saturated fat
14g carbs
4g fiber (so net carbs = 10g)
10g protein.

I buy these by the caseload and it last me. So if anyone get bored drinking shakes only, this can also be added to your weight loss regime. It is all up to you and how you want to determine your weight loss plan. I still lost weight successfully using these 2 Medifast products.

Thanks for the idea about the oatmeal! I love oatmeal good and it doesn't look much different from the "contents" of the shakes, label-wise. Maybe I'll buy some of that around the time I'm going to do the transition work if not before.... or before, if I start having trouble.

Glad you got your order. I find that I'm still using up all my packets of dutch chocolate in advance of using the things I bought on sale. I'll probably have to draw the line and just start making myself use those things so I don't get to the spot of having nothing but the stuff I don't like as much. Maybe "all weekend", the sale stuff, lol!

Keep in touch!!
