Pre-emptive potential explosion question

Postby dede4wd » May 8th, 2006, 11:20 pm

Okay,
I didn't bring my cute little cooler and I'm flying tomorrow. What I'm interested in doing is freezing my RTD's so they're chilly as I fly. Anybody try this?

How tough are these containers? Think they'll survive? Think I'll have an unplanned explosion? Think I should give up and pour them over ice? I don't have RTD's to spare, so I'm asking before I ACT (new thing for me!)

Whatdayathink?

It should be fine. Parmalat milk boxes and yoo hoo freeze fine. If you are worried, baggie it. I think you'll be okay

I've frozen and defrosted 'em with no problem. And left 'em in a very hot car and then chilled them, again with no problem. Those little things are pretty darn resilient.

Oh yeah, thanks Dogma!
:yourock:
I was wondering that the other day. I left one in my car and it got warm. :dooh:
I was wondering if I put it back in the fridge, would it still be good. Sometimes soda and especially beer is no good if it has been cold, got hot, then you try to drink after cooled again.

Good Info!

I hope the TSA don't take it away from you...calling it a lethal weapon. 8)

As screwy as the TSA has been lately... you might want to ditch the straw. It does have that pointy thing at the end <img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_2_116.gif' border=0>

Just kidding.. ;)

Joan,
I've had so many "poofs" and "oops" and "uh oh's" that I jumped when I saw your post!

No explosion! I actually had to have my L & G early during a layover because my RTD's were STILL FROZEN! THey're good now though!

Thanks everyone!
