Don't forget that Brazilian Bikini is going to require a Brazilian wax! <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_13_9.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D23%252F23_13_9/image.gif">

Sounds like you may need to give the scale a rest Steph if it's freaking you out. Just keep in mind that 1 lb = 3500 calories. If you've been compliant then you know there's no way you've eaten an additional 3500 calories so the extra weight is more than likely water. Ocassionally our bodies just like to hold on to it for a couple of days then one day you wake up and WOOSH! It's gone and taken a little more with it.

Hang in there! You are doing great!

You are doing so great. Don't let the scale rule your emotions because it can sure ruin a perfectly good day! You will have some natural fluctuations in your weight. If you plan to weigh everyday, only weigh once in the morning. If you are up a little, don't worry, just keep on being compliant and it will all work out. Try to look at your overall weight loss on a weekly basis, not daily. There are so many factors that can affect your weight, especially throughout the day. We know you can't really gain a lb between morning and noon!

There are other things you can do to confirm you are shrinking other than the scale. Did you take your measurements? How are your clothes fitting? When I started I had a bunch of clothes that were too small. I tried them on and started a clothes journal. I made notes like "needs 4" to button comfortable and thighs are way too tight". Then I tried them on about every 2 weeks. Even when the mean old scale was not cooperating I could see the difference in the way the clothes fit, it was fun! Now all those clothes are too big and have been given away!

You have a wonderful attitude. Have some fun on your weight loss journey.

You have a great attitude Stephanie! I have had my own problems with scale-obsession and have finally adjusted (I think). I don't weigh as often now and when I do I don't stress out as much when I don't get any scale-love. As long as I stay compliant I know eventually the scales will give it up for me. Best wishes on your journey.

oubelqasse wrote:I am feeling a little sad, but nothing to make me quit. I have done really good on the program thus far, but the last few days have been a little downer. I think Im obsessed with the scale. When I wake up in the morning its the first thing I think of, I rush to the bathroom, potty, and then hop on to see how much I have lost. Well, a few days ago, I went from 245.5 upto 246.5. I gained a whole pound and I dont know why. I spoke with Christy on the phone and we came to the conclution that it was prob because I was not eating enough protein for my lean and green. Of-couse when I weighed in the next day, I had stayed the same. I dont know why the number has not gone down.

I told myself that I think I am going to weigh myself only 2 times a week, however this morning what did I do? Jump on the scale. It said that I had lost about 2 pounds, but later in the afternoon when I jumped on it again, I was back up to 245. I think I need to put the scale in the closet and take it out on Thursdays and Sundays. THoughts?

I weigh every morning ... once ... it's the best time to weigh in. After I have eaten and drunk water the scale will go up--that's just common sense. Still, there are slight fluctuations that are beyond our control. Even changes in the weather can affect our weight! (And I am personally convinced the moon has an effect as well. ) So don't be discouraged when the scale gets stubborn. Whatever you do, be consistent. Use the same scale, same time of day. :D

The MF system works but be sure you are getting enough protein in your L&G (I'm glad you checked that. Use a scale for accuracy.) and be sure to eat all your MF meal replacements. Skipping meals can be costly over the long haul. It can cause your body to hold on to what it has and stall out. :x

Hang in there and reach for the star! :star:

Hey girl! Yes, the scale will make you nutty if you keep weighing yourself throughout the day. Our body weight fluctuates throughout the day because of food and fluid intake, etc. I also weigh myself first thing in the morning, and that's it. All of us had "scale obsessions" at one time or another. So you are not alone. If you can't help yourself and keep stepping on it contantly, It's time to put it in the closet my friend, and only weigh Every few days, like you said.

Have a great day!

Today was a fantastic day! I woke up feeling refreshed and after putting on a brand new pair of shorts that I purchased years ago, but never fit, I felt amazing. I wore them with pride and got huge compliments by my husband!

Im starting to see a slight difference, nonetheless its better then what I was before. I also tried on some skirst that I saved to see how they fit. I remember prior to getting pregnant with Sarah (who is 2 months old) I couldn't fit into these. I dont think I ever felt them loose on me.. that is untill now! A month or so ago, I bought 3 new suits to wear to work, I wonder how those are going to fit.. Perhaps they will be too big... which of course... is a good thing! I cant beleive I go back to work next Thursday!

NSV is a non scale victory (I had to ask that question too).

I just wanted to say welcome and congratulations on the new baby, the 13 lb. loss and the NSV. Your doing great!

Love & Laughter,
Donna

That's okay. As Lizabette says they keep you motivated. Sometimes they are better than losing weight. Like when someone mistakes you for a former model.
