Nope. The texture is great. They're very moist, actually.

I have a quick question about the recipe that was given: What flavor oatmeal is everyone using and when she said four pumps of SF syrup, how many tsp. approx? My DaVinci syrups don't come in spray form so I don't want to overdo it.

AngelGirl ~ One pump is approximately 1/4 oz. so 4 pumps would be 1 oz. total. One oz. = 2 Tbsp.

I've been using apple cinnamon but I bet the maple brown sugar would work, as well.

Ark ~

I think the flavor would be really good but I suspect ya might use a bit less water with the Maple & BS than the Apple Cinny because the apples soak up more of the water and give a thicker consistency - whaddya think?

Hmmmm <pausing to reflect> ...

Now you're making me put on my thinking cap. I'd be willing to bet that the water wouldn't change but you never know. Now I'm gonna have to order some and try it

After finally trying the CHocolate Divine or whatever they're called bars, I have to say I would just eat one of them rather than going through all the hassle....and this is coming from a baker and cook. If I wasn't teaching I would be doing that full time!

Hey Sidrah ~ The only reason that I take the time to make these is b/c we only get one bar per day and on the weekends (when I go to the hospital) I have to work 12 hours + without a break. I just need portable foods. At home, I never take the time to make the brownies ... just too much effort.

Ha...I have kinda the opposite. Once summer hits and I will be home, unless I teach summer school  I will probably make them a few times a week since I will have the time.

But, for now, for me, I thought to add the fruit drinks in cause I had no time at home to think about making them much less actually do it.

They do sound good. I will wait till finals are over and grades are submitted before I even think about it. I can see where you would add in more chocolate "bars" this way do you alleviate the need to always stop and prep something. And what a tasty way to do it ;)
