L/G Meal Question

Postby sunshinekpc » March 31st, 2007, 6:10 pm

Just wondering if you can split your L/G. Maybe like 2 oz of meat (chicken, most likely for me) at lunch with 1cup salad greens (or whatever 1/2 is of the recommended daily allowance), then have the other half later on. If not the meat, what about having a salad (again, 1/2 of whatever the daily allowance is for raw veggies) and a soup for lunch. Trying to trick my mind and mouth into thinking its eating more when its really not.

I think I have heard of others doing this. You do have to have protein and veggies both times, though - you can't have like the meat at one time and the salad at another. But you seem to already know that!

That's a great question! I would love to do that as well and have it be (legal)! I've done it in the past, but sometimes, I seem to take it for granted and over indulge. Can't wait to hear if we can do it that way or not! Great question!

I think it's best when you split the protein and the veggies, so you have some protein at each meal. Remember, for chicken, you're splitting up 6 oz.. Don't deny yourself that whole serving. Your body needs it and it makes a difference if you don't eat enough.

Chicken is supposed to be 7 oz, why do you say 6? Did it change somewhere? :?:

No change. Chicken is 7 oz. Yes, you can split the L&G.
