Day 61, 8:01am (written on the commuter train to work)

Well, I just couldn’t take the suspense last night and I just had to get on the scale and see where I was at after my weekend. I have to admit that I was very scared that I was going to see the scale go up. All I had really hoped for was for the scale to just stay the same. But to my surprise, I weighed in at 265.5 so I was down 1 more pound. Yay! I know it may seem like bad news that the scale has only moved down one pound in the past week but I definitely don’t see it that way. Hey, I’ve lost 39 lbs in just 60 days! And I haven’t been starving and living at the gym to do it. What more can I ask for? Also, this week may not have been a big loss week but it was a huge NSV week and I got to see my family so it is all good. I’m just very thankful that I don’t have to move my ticker in the other direction! Also, I talked to Dede about it last nite and she told me that after flying, you usually weigh in about a pound heavier so I guess that might a factor as well.

But my nite was not determined to be a bad one…I have some really, really great MF news. One of my girlfriends has decided to join me in my MF journey! I’m so excited about that. We placed her order last nite and we’re hoping that it will be here this Friday. (so she’ll be a grouch-ball this weekend, lol) she’s super excited too. It is funny how you can forget how you looked once you get down the path, but it’s even funnier when others forget too. I say that because my girlfriend came over last nite so we could put together her order. I showed her the forum and then I showed her my “before” and “during” pictures that are posted in the Studio. When I pulled the pics up, she was like, “Girl, when was that?!?!?” and I was like “Hello, that was just 3 months ago, right before I started MF!!”. She then said, “I don’t even remember you looking like that.” Now that I’ve pulled some of the weight off, I can appreciate how far I’ve come and can look back at my before pics and actually have a chuckle. The sad thing is that I didn’t truly realize how bad it was until I saw the pictures from that night. I was disturbed because I just couldn’t believe that was people saw when they looked at me. All I can say is thank goodness for MF!!! This program has truly been a life saver.

Well, that’s all I’ve got to report this morning and I’m about two stops from my destination anyways so I gotta wrap this up here. Here’s to another wonderful Hump Day!

Kim,
I say an one-lb loss when you flew twice, and hung with your family and friends is a HUGE victory! I think you dunn good!

I'm SO glad your friend is joining you on this journey! I know what you mean about the studio pictures. I look at that one big one of me and I remember the night so clearly that picture was taken, I just can't believe I weighed that much. I'm so glad I have the before pictures!

Hmmm and where have you been little missy? Haven't talked to you in over a week. I hope all's well. Surviving the heat! I bet you wish you were back in Wash!

Let me know how you are!

Day 83 – A THANKFUL THURSDAY

Ok, it seems hard to write back in my journal after being gone from the forum for almost a month. But here it goes, and what better day to come back on then a THANKFUL THURSDAY? Funny thing is, I came up with Thankful Thursday s a long time ago and this is only my 2nd entry. Well, this week I am thankful for:

* MF – it’s so nice to have something in my life that is still working when I’m having such a crappy time dealing with other things
* This forum – I think that knowing that one day I’d be coming back has helped keep me pretty accountable about the program
* New beginnings and second chances – I’m counting my blessings and remembering that no matter how bad things are now, they can only get better and this is a time for a new beginning
* …being on the brink of getting into the 50# club, it’s so close, I can taste it!
* RTD’s – I ordered my first few RTDs this week and OMG, they are so yummy and convenient. I may have to make them a staple in my order from now on.

Well, this is going to be a very short entry but it is an entry nonetheless. I have a lot of catching up to do…

Day 88

thanks Elke! it's so nice to be back...it's funny how when things in life start to get good again how busy you can get. so i'm back on track with my eating and i've even implemented PROJECT NO SOY CRISPS to keep me on track (those are my true MF weakness). i'm not sure how long the project will be but we'll see.

so i've been going back to hot yoga faithfully for a week. it's amazing how good it feels to be able to do all of the moves now that the belly is gone. this morning after class, i got on the scale and was soooooo happy to see that i was down a total of 51.1 lbs. it was such a good feeling and it totally set the mood for my day.

i'm glad that the real rough times are over and the sun is shining in my life again. yeah it's gonna be a short post, but i gotta run...

Day 90 – A THANKFUL THURSDAY

What a great day today is. And such a coincidence that my 90th day falls on a THANKFUL THURSDAY! Can't believe it's been 3 months! I’ve been quite busy lately so I haven’t been able to post much. Today is another busy day since I gotta get ready for my road trip. But I wanted to check in and make sure to get my “thanks” in.

This week I’m most thankful for:

1. Hitting the 50# club! The 50 lb mark is a big milestone for me and I thought it would never come but here it is.
2. I bought a suit a few months ago and couldn’t fit the skirt and I tried it on today. Good news (and what I’m thankful for) is that it finally fits! Bad news is that the jacket is way too big and now needs to be altered (I’ll wait til I hit goal to do that).
3. Unemployment insurance – it’s a great thing to have when you get laid off…
4. Having the strength to stay away from soy crisps for almost 2 weeks now…
5. Did I mention the 50# club?!?! I’m so psyched about it, I had to mention it again.

So I’m going on the road to La La Land (that’s Los Angeles) this weekend so it’ll be interesting to see how I do. I’ve got to be sure to pack all of my supplements and I’m going to be tested by being at my sister-in-law’s housewarming party. I know there’s gonna be lots of drinking and eating going on so I’m almost tempted to bring some soy crisps with me. Not sure, we’ll see. Well, I gotta run and get packed for this trip so till next time…

Day 91

Today is such a WONDERFUL day!!! And I've come to the conclusion that I will continue my PROJECT NO SOY CRISPS through the weekend on my trip to LA. What made me come to that conclusion? Well, this morning I decided to try on my "dream jeans" (yes, the ones that I had wanted to get into by 7/22. i know it's 3 weeks later but as they say, "better late than never"). I was just barely able to squeeze into them but i was able to nonetheless. yes, it was tight getting the zipper up and getting the button butttoned but i did it. and my sister always says "if you can zip the zipper and button the button, then you are in them, no matter how tight they are!" LOL...so that made my MONTH and i took it as my sign to stay away from the soy crisps for a while longer.

i cannot believe this program is still working strong after 3 months. i might make my goal to lose 30 lbs before i go to vegas after all. and if not, then it's all good cuz i made it into my 'dream jeans'. :D

EXCELLENT!!

Congrats on the dream jeans and BIG Congrats on the new club. Way to go, girl!

Enjoy your weekend in LA, and be strong -- you know it's in you. There's a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson that I really love; it says: "What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." Ol' Ralph had it going on, didn't he?

Day 97 - A THANKFUL THURSDAY

I'll start off today's post with my "thankfuls"...

1. I am most thankful that for the first time in a LONG time I've weighed in below 250 lbs! This morning i weighed in at 249.8 lbs. yeah, only .2 under but hey, i'm under and it feels great!

2. I am thankful that after living in my new house for over 3 months, I FINALLY took the time to clear out the garage and now can park my car in there. Major accomplishment...

3. This week I'm very thankful for having such an awesome HA that i can turn to on this journey. i really needed her this week and she was there in a big way.

4. I am thankful that my girfriend and my sister have joined me in MF and are both doing so well.

5. I am thankful for the spice cumin! Today for the first time since May, I decided to give the chili another try (since my girllfriend said it was good with cumin added to it) and guess what?!?! it actually was good. gotta be so thankful for spices.

Well, I guess I'm in a pretty thankful mood this week. There's lots to be thankful for so i'm glad i take the chance to write them down weekly. I'm still going pretty strong on the Project No Soy Crisps, except on Sunday i did have a bag. oh well, i'm back on track now and it's all good. i haven't been posting here very diligently like i have in the past but i've been preoccupied with a lot in life. what's most important is that i stick to MF in my real life. :)

so i looked at the calendar and i realized that i leave in exactly 5 weeks from today. so in order to get to my goal of being 223 lbs when i get on the flight, i have to lose 26.8 lbs in the next 5 weeks. it's a stretch, but i'mma try my hardest to get as close as i can. if i don't make it that far, i at least want to lose 20 lbs, that's the bottom of my goal. lets see what happens...
