jlaman79 & Taangrl21...thanks!! I'm hoping to give my notice tomorrow at work...
I am back on plan and am trying to get a ton of water in. On the downside, I don't see the scale moving too much, but on the upside...I haven't been too hungry since my splurge...oh, and I haven't been hit with the dreaded headache from hell either! :hammerhead:
I'm SO happy about that!

I haven't had too tough a time getting back into ketosis. I had few little anxious moments, but I have those anyway. Glad to see you doing well.

Don't worry about the scale, just keep concentrating on what you know you can control :) : Getting yourself back into the routine, getting in your supps and water... all that good stuff :). You're doing great :).

Cheers,

Exactly what I was going to say, but I would have lacked Karli's perkiness!

Thanks girls!!! I need the added support today...a little stressed about giving my notice! I've been extremely compliant today though - which is great - since one of the only things that keeps me from eating is when I'm nervous! :|
You would think I'd be alot thinner, since I have an anxiety disorder to begin with! I guess that falls into the "life is not fair" category.... :muahaha:

Just do it with the grace and dignity I know you have. Stress how much you have loved their company (for recs later) but an opportunity has come up that you cannot turn down!

From the point of view of an employer, there's really no good way except to be honest and assure them that you will do everything you can to make the transition easier.

We just had an employee resign at the most inopportune time. (We are an accounting firm, tax season is NOW!.....not good) It would have been much better if she had offered to help in the transition. As it is, we are asking her to clean out her desk and not let the door hit her in the ars when she goes.

Hi Jo - as an appreciative employee, I have every intention of helping train my replacement and ease the transition as much as possible. This company has been great to me, but I'm pretty much at my limit salary-wise, and it's a small company, with no more room for growth...but I have learned so much there and made many friends, so it will be tough!

I'm just one of those people who hates to deliver "bad" news! But like you said, if I'm honest I will be fine. Our year just ended, so it shouldn't be too much of an inopportune time to move on.

Thanks for the employer's perspective!

Can you say Binge?????

Postby LadyT » January 2nd, 2007, 10:00 am

So my New Year's Eve started out great. I was happily eating my oatmeal...a few RTD shake...and then my friends came over around 5:30 and I embarked on a binge of epic proportions. :bib:
I ate so much crap that I can't even remember it all to list it!!! The one thing I didn't really do was drink though...weird. I did have a few sips of champagne at midnight, but otherwise it was all about the junk food. I'm over it now...and I have to be honest...I'm not all that upset, or feeling riddled with guilt. I know exactly what I did and what I've done to ketosis. But I also know that I won't gain back my 30 lbs from one day of eating badly. I am back on plan today and actually feel pretty good. I'm sure the headache will be upon me soon, but I'll get through it. It was still a happy new year...and I'm still thinner than I was LAST New Year's Eve. I am looking forward to the coming year and if I do stumble, I know I can pick myself back up.
I haven't weighed myself...and I may skip this week's roll call...but I'm not going anywhere!

Hi

Postby dede4wd » January 2nd, 2007, 2:25 pm

It's over. It happened. Nothing you can do about it now...

Get back on program, drink a bunch of water and just move on.

The great thing about MF is that it's always there for us! You had a little setback. Don't worship the scale, you'll be fine!

We'll be here!

Thanks DeDe..I'm back on track and all is well! It's weird...even though I KNEW I was off plan and was "being bad" as I call it, my mind-set was different than "normal". Before I found MF, I would have thought "F-it...I screwed up and may as well wait to try again". So I guess that may be why I wasn't too upset with my choice to eat badly...because like you said - MF is always there for us - and I knew I would be right back on the next day.
I wish I were a more "all or nothing" type of person that could get through my weight loss without straying...but as hard as I try, that's just not me. My journey will take me longer because of that, but I'll still get to where I'm going.
