Just a short update

Hello All! I haven't been here in forever, but I hit a monumental 20 pounds this morning! I also changed my weight goal. I know it isn't ideal, but I recently found out I have PCOS. My gyn said that the chances were, I'd never get all the way down, but it is possible to lose a good amount of weight. The lowest I've ever been is 160 and I was a size 10 at that point, so I figured that was a good, realistic goal. When I get there, I'll be happy. I'll still keep losing (or trying to lose), but that's when I'll be at my goal. So...yeah! Hope everyone's doing great!

Aloha & welcome fellow "cyster" - I too have PCOS and have lost an amazing 38 pounds in two months!! Originally diagnosed as "being obese" I was placed on Meridia and lost nothing - then my OBGYN made the diagnosis of PCOS (no menstrual cycle, cysts, hair everywhere - I mean everywhere it shouldn't have been). I was placed on Metforim and my doc recommended Medifast - the rest is history!! I am sure that the Metforim has helped, however, I truely believe that Medifast and this forum have been crucial to my success.

well, I'm still in the beginning stages of PCOS, so my GYN isn't doing a whole lot about it, which I'm not sure about, but it's not the time or place to switch. He has me on Ortho-Cyclene and Spironolacton for now until I'm ready to have kids, in which time he said we should change treatment. He also said that I should get checked after I get back from school.

I am a PCOS'er too. There are a lot of us here. Pinky I think you may want to see an endo or your family doctor to get blood work done since it is a hormone imbalance the right medications may help you lose weight and feel more healthy.
