2 more pounds gone!

I weighed in this morning, and confirmed that feeling.......2 more pounds gone! I'll be in the 50# club in no time!

Do you guys ever just get that "I'm definately lighter today" kind of feeling?

It almost always means to me that the scale will move!

feeling down

I'm apparently very hormonal right now so excuse the ups and downs. It's TOM and I'm a bit emotional anyway.

I've just discovered that I've been duped out of 75 dollars. I spoke with a man yesterday from a Veteran's group that I donated to last year. He asked me if I would contribute again and I told him I would contribute but not at this time. He confirmed my mailing information and payment information and said he would send me the material in the mail and I could call in when I was ready and complete the transaction to donate the money.

This morning I logged on to my bank account and he's already deducted the money! It made my account go over drawn by 20 dollars!

I'm so mad and upset right now. I made it very clear that I was not ready to contribute at this time and they did it anyway. I have to go deposit my grocery money to keep the account from being overdrawn because then you get charges by the day.

I called the bank and disputed the withdrawal. They will investigate it and if they choose that it was an unauthorized transaction they will credit my money back, but it's going to take at least 2 weeks.

I'm upset with myself because I know better than to give someone my debit card info, but I was feeling good about giving to the veterans, and I had given to them last year with no problems.

I'm in tears feeling stupid and sorry for myself right now.
I don't know what to say to my hubby. I was supposed to be grocery shopping today and now I have to explain this.

I'm so sorry the debit thing happened to you! Those people are SO smooth! I hope your bank can help! Are you going to need to open a new bank account? I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this! I hate people like that!

The bank said they could cancel my debit card and re-issue me a new one if I thought I needed to. I hate to do it right now. Not very many places accept checks any more and I'm so used to using my debit card it would be a major inconvenience not to have it through Christmas.

I'll have to talk to the hubby and see what he wants to do.

Dede-you are doing great! You're pics are beautiful. Do you mind if I ask you how tall you are? I'm still trying to get an idea of what I'll look like at goal. I'm 5'6" tall and shooting for 150 and perhaps beyond.

It's a hassle, but it's safer, do you want these guys to have you "donate" whenever they want? Plus, if they are even less on the up and up than we think...they could sell your debit card info...something to consider.

I'm nearly 5'10" btw. But I have teeny bones. I looked up the healthy BMI range for 5'6" for kicks and the range is 120-148. I also adjusted my final goal several times. I started at 170, then when I reached it, I realized I wanted to be in the middle of the healthy range, so that's where my goal is now.

I'm 5'7 and I was overweight looking at 150. I have teeny bones for my size. At 150 my ring size was 4.75 but I had a lot of extra body fat. Of course, I had no muscle. I hardly got any exercise. For instance, when you take a new prescription medication, they list side effects. You may have none of these, but in studies based on many people, these effects occured. My goal weight is 135 which is over the weight I was most of my adult life, 117. I was very thin and according to many weight charts, underweight. I believe that at 135, if I have developed the healthy muscle mass I desire, it is a weight I would be comfortable with. Of course, that is a long way out and I can change my goal anytime I want as my body changes. I hope I didn't ramble.

Biki is very wise. I just used the BMI chart as a guideline...I knew I wasn't going to get to my HS graduation weight of 138...and I knew 169 (top of the healthy range) was too high for me (still looked chunky), so I picked a # right in the middle. Goals are not absolute or final...like I said, I've changed my goal several times!

Thanks for the info on the BMI charts. My hubby is the same height as me and he weighs 145. He's small for a guy but muscular. So I'm trying to picture myself about his size. (I've been over weight since puberty so I have no idea what that will be like) He's saying I'll be way to thin but I still have a ways to go, so we'll just see where I end up. I'm a very curvy girl and I think he's afraid I'll lose my shape. I would'nt mind losing a little of it. I'm tired of hauling the 38 dd's around! LOL

I want to be thin and toned and athletic without being muscular. Think Yoga instructor.

I weighed in today and lost that extra pound, so today I join the 50 pound club!!

Merry Christmas!

Well today is my last day of work before Christmas. I won't be back until Wed the 27th. The plan is to stay on plan. The hard part will be Christmas Eve dinner followed by two dinners on Christmas Day. Thanksgiving was easy because there was only 1 family meal involved. (he,he,he the in-laws are still upset by the way)

So, I can't skip them all together at Christmas. Sun. Christmas Eve will be a normal 5 and 1 day. I will have my L and G at the dinner with no extras.

Christmas Day will be harder to arrange. I can do my reg MF morning but then I have to go to the inlaws dinner at noon and then my mom's dinner at 6:00. I want to have my L and G at my mom's dinner because I like the food. I don't like the in law's cooking and I don't want to waste my L and G on them. Pooy! How to get out of eating their dinner????

I could try the old trick of eating a MF meal right before we leave and then putting food on my plate and just pushing it around claiming not to be very hungry?

I tell ya, they're gonna be unhappy with what ever I do, so even at the risk of making every single one of them mad, I'm not eating at their dinner.

OK, I geuss i just had to think that through. My in-laws are actually my hubby's grandparents and great grandmother. The dad and step-mom keep to themselves. I wish his grandparents would!!! His real mom has been in a nursing home since he was 1 year old. Brain tumor. Stroke. Can't talk.

Sorry about all the rambling, just trying to come up with a workable plan.

We haven't made any plans for New Year's yet. I think my hubby and I may just spend it alone together. That would be nice and take away the drinking pressure.

Well, I've spent a great deal of time (probably too much since I'm supposed to be working) reading many of your journals and trying to get to know all of you. Wow! What a great group of folks.

I look forward to starting off the New Year with such a great new resource and support system.

Back at work today and back into my usual routine. That is such a relief. I love being at home and spending time with my kids but it's tough. That's when the "hmmmm maybe I should eat something" weird feelings start to hit. Instead of looking at the clock and saying it's time for another MF, I constantly run an inventory of my pantry through my mind. It's not hunger, it's old habit, and the insecurity of going without my schedule. I have a 7 year old girl and a 18 month old boy, so it's hard to keep any schedule on home days.

Here's a re-cap of my holiday weekend:
Friday went well all day. We went out to eat that night with a friend. My (sort of ) L and G was a salad with shrimp and wings.

Saturday I had eggs for breakfast and didn't eat again until 1 o'clock. I ended up just eating tuna. Later at dinner I had eggs again.

Sunday was Christmas Eve and I was ready for it. I stayed on plan and had my L and G at the family dinner. I ate turkey breast and green beans.

Monday was Christmas morning and this is where I really messed up. My mom decided to do a breakfast get together with my brother and sister and families. I had country ham (so salty!) and she requested that I make home made biscuits. Not only did I make the biscuits I ate 2 of them! Hubby was making "the face" at me.

Then we had to go to his Grandparent's house for their "dinner".
*sigh* I ate two servings of cornbread dressing and turkey breast and more green beans. Hubby getting a little anxious and asking me "are you ok?"

We finally get home and the kids are exhausted and taking naps, my nerves and blood sugar are shot at this point and I'm getting a headache, belly ache and feeling mucho cranky.

The kids start opening all the goodies and I eat a Hostess choc. cup cake.

Hubby looks at me, and says, "I don't want to make you mad, but are you sure you want to eat like this today?"
I reassure him that I have kept a mental tally of all the horrible things I have eaten and that I will get back on track the next day with lots and lots of H2O. He is satisfied and doesn't say anything else.

Yesterday at home alone with the kids, I was doing fine, drinking my water and the sugar cravings hit. I knew what it was, and knew why it had appeared, and yet I caved. I helped the kids eat a twinkie, and as I was passing through the kitchen my hand reached out and snagged a mini Snickers bar. I ate that too.

I did not like the feeling I had yesterday of almost completely losing control. It was scary.

I drank almost no water the whole time. I drank lots of Diet Cola. Last night my hands were so swollen that my wedding ring made a deep indentation into my finger. Ouch.

So, this morning I decided to jump on the scale and face the music. No sense living in denial. Up 3 pounds. I'm hoping most of it is water bloat.

So it was a relief to go back to the office this morning and get back to normal. I've been drinking water like crazy, keeping my meals on schedule and making a potty run every few minutes.

I hope everyone else did better than me, but even with all the crap that i ate, it was a drop in the bucket to what I consumed in the same timespan last year. That is progress, getting back on plan today is progress. Not eating everything I was offered was progress.

That was exhausting for me and all I did was read it! I am sorry you were on such a roller coaster! Hooray that you are back on plan and back to a normal routine and the damage wasn't worse.
