horrible trip, horrible week, i miss my kitty now

Postby glitterynile » July 27th, 2006, 12:27 pm

i went on "vacation" last tuesday to visit my boyfriends family in NJ/NY.

First i had to board our sick kitty with the vet monday night, then tuesday night after catching the plane our flight was cancelled and we had to sleep in the airport till the next plane came in the morning.

We arrived in New York 9am weds, to my dismay his grandma picked us up and would be driving us all week. SHE DROVE IN THE CENTER OF TWO LANES IN NEW YORK CITY! people we honking like crazy - i am glad i am alive.... :x

then thurday i get a call from the vet, my baby kitty is having sezuires - confirming what we hoped wouldnt happen. She was sick with FIP, a diease with no test to confirm it actucally and no cure.

From then on the trip was miserable, his screaming spoiled cousins all around me. We didnt get to do one thing WE wanted to do on OUR vacation, it was all about pleasing the brats!

I keep calling the vet, Kairi (my kitty) was having more sezuires and I gave my consent to put her down is things got worst before i made it back in town to help her pass on.

I get the call sunday 6 hours before my plane home takes off - kairi passed saturday night (July 22, 2006) . The vet found her and says it was most likely another sezuire, but thankfully she passed and was not in pain (animal are "disconnected" and are not aware of what is happening during one). she was only 8/9 months old.

i gained weight from this all (3 pounds) the stress was horrible last week and now the sorrow of a missed baby is all i have left.

Kairi,

mommy loves you and misses you, but is gald you are no longer in pain.

thanks for letting me share.

I'm so sorry about your kitty (and about your vacation, too). You did everything you could for her, and at least she knew what it was like to be loved for what little time she had.

So sorry to hear about your sweet baby. I know how you feel. I lost my precious Maggie (Jack Russell Terrier) when she was only 2 yrs old to a rare blood disorder. I had boarded her at the kennel because I was out of town for my job and got a call that she was hemmoraging. I had to rush back home, and drive her 5 hours away to Texas A & M vet hospital to try and save her life. She didn't make it. Be glad that you had the time with her and that she is not suffering. Hugs!

I'm so sorry about Kairi. She was a great kitty i know, and you gave her a good life. Some things are just beyond our control. She will be waiting for you at the rainbow bridge....

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Hi Kairi,
I am sooo sorry to hear about your kitty. It is sooo hard for us to part with our animals. I've had to part with several and it is never easy. Of course I am an animal lover. Well everything but snakes -- they scare me. I'm probably one of the few people who took a geriactric gerbil to the vet.
As for riding with your grandma .... hmmmm that was quite the experience !!!
