Holiday Greetings & One Year Maintenance Pix

Postby Amber » December 18th, 2007, 9:21 am

Hello, Medifasters, & Happy Holidays to you All~

I wish that you each be richly blessed this holiday season, that your hopes & dreams be fulfilled, that that which is important to you be realized.

While listening to XM (Oprah, Marianne Williamson??) the other day, I heard something that has caused me reflection... The statement was that "one can never get enough of what one does not need". That thought was so succinct, it rang so true to me. It has caused me to think about how I have tried, over the years, to fill myself with too much of what I did not (& do not) need; food, alcohol, abuse, whatever... Weight-loss is life changing, maintaining is challenging; this life transition has caused much reflection for me. Losing weight, for me, is not truly about losing weight; it has been about recognizing what I do and do not need. My wish for each of you is that you recognize what you do not need and fill yourselves with the things that are truly beneficial to your well being~

Dear Amber ~

 Oh, my!

Where have I been? :brickwall:

I just :shades: saw your fabulous picture and appreciate your post.

You look amazing - youthful, wholesome, slender and healthy! :you:

Your statement about never getting enough of what we don't need resonated with me as well. It feels wonderful to live with freedom from flab and freedom from the things I used to allow to control my thoughts.

It's like those old ways of thinking have been :3head: purged from my mind.

Your photo demonstrates you continue to take the actions that result in an excellent quality of life and health.

:goldstar: Congratulations to you for maintaining your weight for 14 months!

I've been AWOL!
Thank you very much for your kind words.
As for the quote, "one can never get enough of what one does not need", it's become my mantra... That thought has proven to be my savior on more than one occasion.
Have a Happy Today, it's the only one you get~
