Lisa-

My husband and mother were the same way. I had never stayed with anything in the past and neither of them thought that I could do it now. BUT...after 8 weeks and losing 31 pounds, two wonderful things have happened. My husband is telling me how cute I look AND patting me on the butt every morning and my mom got her box and is starting Medifast tomorrow. It's all good! I wish you the best of luck...keep us posted.

Welcome aboard!!!

When I started this program on Feb 16 I was scared...and yes worried about not being able to stick with it.

I quit smoking 6 months ago..and with that my mindset starting out was delay tactics, basically..when you have a crave tell yourself you can wait one more hour...then one more hour..etc etc. Same thing with this plan. one hour at a time...you can handle that. It adds up quickly. I am on day 27 and have lost 18 pounds. No cheats..no bread, no sugar, nothing not allowed by program. To me that is Unbelievable. Be creative with your food within the guidelines, in the quick start book. Check out the lean and green area of this site for ideas and recipes. Seasoning is God's gift to dieters..lol

Medifast is a WONDERFUL tool. YOU have the instruction booklet to use this tool. you have the materials you need and the abilities to put all of the above into action. It is up to you to use it properly. If you do, you will be rewarded in ways you may not be able to imagine. Self-confidence, empowerment...YOU control what goes into your mouth. :)

I have long way to go...I look forward to travelling this road with you. You CAN do it...We can do it!

Happy Shaking!
Hugs,
Gina

*Things that helped me get through the first few days:
-Sugarfree Jello(1 or 2 measured cups a day)I buy a bunch of boxes and mix my own..its cheaper and the kids like it too.;)
-Pickles or celery
-Sugarfree mintsBreathsavers (up to 4 a day)
-spacing my meals 2 hours apart
-Drinking 64-100+ oz of water spread throughout the day.
-During the first week...I drank a glass of crystal light maybe every other day...it helped with the sweettooth.

*THings that helped me in prep of my lean and green
-Knowing that the amount of meat allowed is AFTER cooking it.
-Kraft Free Italian dressing(Walden Farms now)
-Molly Mcbutter
-Molly McCheese
-McCormick Peppercorn Medley, Pepper grinder
-Pam butter flavor and olive oil flavor cooking sprays.
-A digital food scale
-Refridgerated minced garlic
-garlic powder
-old bay seasoning
-Steamed veggies as opposed to salads...helped me to feel fuller and more satisfied during the first week or two. I now alternate between a salad one night and then hot veggie the next.

Good Luck Lisa! But you don't really need luck, just determination that you're going to get your weight off once and for all.

I can relate to other's skeptism of yet another diet. One time after making the statement for probably the 20th Sunday in a row I said that I was starting a diet "tomorrow". My fiance jokingly told me that I had the least willpower when it came to diets of anyone he knows. Needless to say, I've reminded him of that comment a lot lately since I'm knocking on the door of the 30 lb club. He's really proud of me and soon your family will know you mean business too.

Have a great first day. I can't wait to read of your first success!!

LISA,

Congratulations on getting your goodies and starting tomorrow! You can prove to everyone that this one will work because you are determined not to cheat, even when a little discouraged.

We do wish you luck, but YOU are the one who will make it happen! Have a fantastic first day! See you on the post,

Lizabette
