Hi guys,,,I'm new here

Postby Disney Mike » May 20th, 2006, 8:59 pm

I just wanted to wade in and introduce myself to everyone that frequents this forum. I have been lurking a bit for the past 4-6 weeks, reading a lot and basically determining that Medifast works for those that follow the program.

I have been very successful on the Atkins regime in the past, in fact I began Atkins two years ago this month and lost 52# in 4 months. I began to yo-yo and could never really get back on track. I know that Atkins works but I just can't seem to get it going again and I have a few theories on that issue. I have major problems with sugar and flour, anytime I consume those, I just start adding the pounds on. Once I refrain from those, I can begin dropping weight again.

I am hoping to shed at least 50# at this point, if things are as good as I have read, I would like to drop a total of 80# by October 1,2006(Archery Season).

I made today my first day on Medifast and it was pretty simple, albeit I have a massive headache, it has lingered all day and manifested this evening into a headbanger. I have read a little of the Food Forum and made a decision to stay away. I was very successful on Atkins and I feel that my demise was the tendancy late in the program to bend the rules, cook up little things that were OK, as long as you had only one. I am sticking to the single servings and knocking it out that way.

I am located in South East Texas for those that may be nearby. I am always up for anyone that wants to chat via email as well. I hope to develop some new friends here in this forum and can lean on for support and guidance.

As far as the handle, I have a interesting past from the golf business, competitive fishing and some guiding. After having our second child become of age, we have become Disney addicts and spend all my boat, fishing, and hunting money there, The Mouse get it All,,lol. All kidding aside, we have a great time but it is sure hard on a diet.

Thanks for having me, feel free to email to chat, especially if you are heading for Disney World, maybe I can help.

Mike

Hi Mike!

I give all my money to TAZ and the Looney Toons, bt I understand! I just wanted to say welcome and I hope the headache goes away soon! Mine did at the end of day 2, then I had the leg cramps! ALL of my crappy feelings were gone after day 4 though and I've been doing well ever since!

I understand what you mean about What happens when you start bending the rules...I don't doctor things at all, because when I start "pushing on the program", my losses slow down and the cravings return, so to me it's not worth it!

Glad you're here!

Welcome Mike,

I found that after the first 4 days I did not have any more headaches or weird tummy rumblings  Now I just follow the program and it is working for me  This forum is a great place for support and new ideas to make the food more interesting.

Good luck to you!

Welcome to the team Mike! I live in Orlando and I know how easy it is to give all your money to the mouse, doesn't take that long to get rid of it all when you are at Disney! I look forward to getting to know you better and watching you lose all that weight!

Welcome Mike,

From my experience MF is the easiest plan I've EVER been on. There is no thinking involved and the weight just melts off. :) What else can you ask for, right?

Hope you settle right in here. :) Everyone is wonderful!

Hi Mike, and welcome! If you keep that great attitude, I'm just sure you will succeed with Medifast. I don't doctor things up either and I don't even eat the snacks (except for a dill pickle every once in awhile). That's how it works for me.

Welcome Mike,

I am a Texas person, but live just east of Dallas.

You will find a great group of people on this forum who will be more than helpful and inspiring.

Good Luck, and if there is ever anything we can help you with, just let us know.

ps, my brother down in Houston is a big hunter and fisherman.. we go down to Galveston all the time to take his boat out into the bay to go fishing, and he takes my hubby hunting every fall. gotta love those Texas deer...

Welcome Mike!!! You have just joined a great family!! Good luck with the program. I'm going to agree with Fluffy...this program is super easy. In terms of not having to think of anything. (Hmmm, when I shake the shake, am I supposed to flip my wrist up or down first?) :D Anyway, good luck on the program and we are all here when you need us whether thru the forums or pm's. And again, WELCOME!
