A Funny Thing Happened...

Postby mellowmom » April 28th, 2006, 8:34 pm

Last Saturday, I finally bought myself a pair of "big girl slacks"..i.e. ones that had a zipper in the front. I haven't worn, or rather been able to look halfway decent in zippered pants since the early Eighties.

I actually bought them a size smaller than what I wore in the stretch waist
type, thinking that it would be a while before they fit comfortably. :hmmm:

So, this morning after I weighed in and hit my 30# lost, I decided to try on the pants. I stepped in, pulled them up, amazingly they zipped up with no problem... Well, actually there was one problem...They were too big!!
In fact, I was able to pull them off without unzipping them!!

When I started on Medifast, I wore stretch waist pants in a size 28. Is it possible that in a month I've gone down to a 24? Gosh I love this program. The weight is coming off in all the right places.

Of course, most of my friends and aquaintances have just started to notice the loss. Don't you just love it when you've lost 30 pounds and your family says they can see it in your face!!! How FAT was my face??? :idontknow: :roflmao:

Well, th-th-th-th-that's all f-f-f-folks. I'm doing spring cleaning over the weekend and have a big ol dumpster to fill up with "stuff"... And a pair of pants to return :-P

You all have a great weekend!

Hi MellowMom,

You are my inspiration. I am at about the same weight you were when you started. I have only been on the program for 5 days so I am getting used to it and have not weighed myself since the first day. Every day I look at myself and I feel so hopeless about reaching my weight loss goal I want to cry. So I go to the boards for some fortification and I always get it. Reading the success others my size are having gets me excited about my day and keeps me going.

I am so happy for you :D Going down a size is such a positive push for me I can't wait until I can say the same.

Thank you for pulling me along on this journey of weight loss.

Hi Carmel!

I'm so happy for you!!! I did the same thing yesterday, buying pants in a size I thought I'd get into in a week or two...I tried them in just for s%$ts and giggles and got them on. They weren't too big like yours were, but they (pretty much) fit! I'm so happy for you!

Carmel,

Isn't it such a great feeling.....for me one of the biggest thrills of losing weight....even more than seeing the scale go down down down.

I could swear the jeans I bought in January got bigger! I mean.....I couldn't be getting that much smaller.......could I???

You are doing great. 30 pounds quickly goes to 40...50....60.......Enjoy the ride!

Yeah inches matter most, I was a 20/18 when I started, and now I'm almost a 16 and have only lost less than 14 pounds, was 5 1/2 inches though.

Congrats.. maybe you wanna go buy another pair now. ;) You get more people noticing when you aren't wearing your old baggy clothes I found out. hehe

Carmel

I can sure identify with you on wanting to wear zip up pants. I started wearing them after I lost the first 25lbs. To this day I will not wear stretch pants.

I have a client who called me this week and told me her living room was a mess because of Medifast. I said "what does that have to do with Medifast"? (she has lost 90lbs so far) and she can not fit any of her clothes. She has been trying on everything in her closet and what she can't fit she has thrown onto the couch. She then told me she had to sign off and go shopping.... :bananadance:

I hope you had fun returning those baggy pants!!!

I LOVE MEDIFAST TOO!!! :cheermed:
