Is Food Your God?

Postby lauradr » April 29th, 2006, 7:04 am

I found this on another sight and it made me think thought I would share it.

Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.

Is Food Your God?
Do you worship food, more than God? Think about it.

Is food a false idol? Food for thought.

Is going out to a good restaurant more exciting than going to church, temple, mosque, or synagogue? Is a three-course meal more tempting than worship?

Is ice cream your true savior? Is a burger and fries your real comfort and joy?

Think of these questions every time before eating, and give the problem of false idols to God, along with your temptations to overindulge.
I'm not where I wanna be but, thank God I'm not where I use to be!

This is so true. Thanks for posting this. A few years back, as I was pondering on some things, it came to me how that even in the Garden, food was involved with the fall. No it was not the actual reason, but used during the "temptation" interesting to think on. Funny how God will show you these things sometimes. I have never forgotten that, and your post reminded me of it.

Thanks again.

Becky, several years ago there was a lady auditor who came to our office for a while. And after getting to know her a little she shared with us how she had lost all this weight. She said she just kept telling herself she was going to "eat to live, not live to eat" and she lost the weight. I have remembered that all these years cause it impressed me so much. Funny, how you said the same thing!

Hang in there all, we can do this.
