Exercise

Postby finalstraw » January 16th, 2004, 8:07 am

I read a post that said you should not exercise during the first of the diet. I was already planning (probably start on Monday) to work in 20-30 min of walking per day. Of course, I don't mind if I am not supposed to exercise, just surprised.

Will this info be covered in the start up info?

What did you do???

Hi! It is recommended that you cut your exercise in half for the first three weeks or so on the program. Your body is adjusting to the lower calories, and if you exercise, you will burn calories....maybe too many for the beginning.

I'd take it easy the first few weeks, then start slowly.

Yes, you should take it easy the first 3-4 weeks. Maybe cut your walk down to just a stroll around the block. If your job is physically demanding or for whatever reason, you must exercise, you can add another shake or two to your diet, if you feel weak or light-headed.

Over exertion or too much exercise can actually slow or stop your weight loss.

This is NOT to say that you should never exercise. Working a moderate exercise plan into the program later on, is essential.
