Dear Wisp ~

Nope. Men get more protein than women do. Grab your Quick Start booklet and read it.

Women get 4-5 ounces; men 6-7 ounces.

...for the encouragement. I have not received my first box yet so I have not read the book. I just thought men would be able to eat more calories.

Thanks, Kassilou ~~~ for the info on the Walden Farms BBQ sauce. I love the flavor of grilled meat, but I also like a little BBQ sauce so I will definitely try it out.

Eddie, according to my Take Shape For Life Quick Start Booklet, 7 ounces of chicken, turkey or fish, or 5 ounces of lean beef, pork or lamb.

Women get 5 ounces...

Shopping!!!

Postby eddieHoustonTX » May 13th, 2005, 5:46 pm

Hi,

Thanks for the info Nancy. I wanted to fill every one in on my lean and green shopping trip today. I invaded the local Kroger Grocery Store!!!

I Bought 1 LB of Talapia Fish and some Brocolli. I stocked up on the MRS. DASH. They have a new flavor called sundied tomato and garlic! A couple of bottles of the LAWRY'S 30 min maranades (thanks Nancy!) be careful with those marinades, though, as they all have different caloric and carb content. Some lemons, some I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray and some 10 calorie hot apple cider mix.

I just had my lean and green. I used about 1/2 of the Talapia. marinated it in the LAWRY's and 1/4 lemon juice. (I allowed it to marinate for 1 hour whilke I mowed the lawn!!!) I was not certain exactly how to measure out 1.5 cups of brocolli, so I eyeballed it with a measuring cup. More or less I used a stalk, i just cup it up and used the florets only, not the stalk part.....that got steamed for 7 minutes in a covered saucepan with water and salt. Then the talapia got George Foreman grilled for about 7 minutes with about 1 TBS of thin sliced onions. I sprayed some sprays of the butter spray on the brocolli and sprinkled the MRS dash on the fish as a garnish. Fresh lemon slices were squeezed over the filets to give a final ZING!! It was delicious....the only thing is that...I am stuffed!!! Do you realize how much fish 1/2 pound is??? 8 oz is quite a bit!! (sorry Nancy, I heard through the grapevine that they are getting ready to modify the ounces for men.)

Well any way.. I am going to have my final shake lare on this evening....I might go make some coffe now and watch a NETFLIX that just came in the mailbox tonight. Mean Girls for you nosey rosies out there!!! Good night!!!

Eddie, it always interesting to me when I read people's comments about the shakes. They do taste great. If they tasted bad, I'd still drink them because of the difference they've made in my life.

I've used them since July 2002 and if they tasted nasty, I wouldn't have used them all this time! They are so versatile - you can have them icy cold via the blender or Bulletized, mixed into a cup of hot coffee or quick and dirty - just mixed quickly with tap water and slurped directly from the Fast Shake jar!

They are wonderful! Enjoy the journey to health and happiness!

Nancy, actually I don't mind my shakes mixed with tap in the shaker jar either. In the beginning I did the blender and ice thing, but got tired of the mess.

Postby eddieHoustonTX » May 21st, 2005, 9:25 am

I have really made MF a part of my life in the last 12 days!

It has been easy to stick to the 5 & 1 plan. I haven't cheated even once, however, last night in the middle of the night, I woke up in a "refridgerator raid' mood! I had a Lemon Fantasy bar instead at 3 AM, and counted it as my first meal of the day! AHHH the successes of Medifast! Thanks!@!!!!

I am certain that many oof you great MF'ers on this forum are waiting to hear what my weigh in will be tomorrow! Well so am I!

I apologize to all of you for not being more chatty here on the forum, but I really have had my proverbially plate full. Usually the majority of my free time is on the weekend. Here I will be able to read the recent posts and reply to the ones that I fing striking.

I had a great conversation with Bonnie last night. She is such an asset as a health advisor, and I really appreciate her.

Well I hope tha tall of you wonderful losers have a great Saturday and a great weekend!

OOPS!!!

Postby eddieHoustonTX » May 21st, 2005, 6:47 pm

Ok, I can't really believe this one!!!!

I went to wash my car today and stopped at a gas station t grab a diet soda. Well I saw the new PEPSI LIME and thought that I'd try that. Well I paid the cashier and jumped back into the car. Took a swig and I thought..MMM this is ok. Not wonderful, but ok. So anyway, I took another swig and then wondered about the carbs in a diet soda, so I looked at a stop light.

Well it said 27 grams of carbs! That couldn't be right I said to myself! I looked at the ingredients and to my shock thew first thing was sugar! I had grabbed the wrong soda...it was a sugared soda. I was so ticked off at myself I threw the bottle out of the window!!

I panicked! I wasn't sure I I had destroyed my ketosis or not. Well I tried to get Bonnie on the fone. No such luck, so I sent her an email from my fone.

By the time I got home, I still had not heard from my health advisor, so I emailed Nancy Petit. Nancy was so kind she called me on the fone!!!! (THANKS NANCY!!) She told me that it really wouldn't hurt me since it was just a couple of swigs. THANKS GOSH!!!

Has anyone else ever done anything so careless?????

Other than that I have had a great day!!

Eddie-

I didn't buy the wrong soda but we went out to eat and I ordered a diet coke. When I finished the first one, the waitress brought me a second. I drank about half of it and then it hit me!! I asked my hubby to taste it and sure enough it was regular Coke. My reaction sounds similar to yours. I even was upset in my mind towards the poor waitress. :x After a few seconds and reassuring from my hubby I calmed down. Needless to say I still dropped almost 3 pounds that week so I think you'll be just fine.
