Cream of Broccoli Fix-Up

Postby mellowmom » October 3rd, 2006, 2:35 pm

I'ts not perfect, but it really helps the "gag factor" on cream of broccoli for me... Son found some "Better than Boullion" in Lobster and another in Clam flavored base. Not quite..but if I close my eyes and hold my nose, it almost tastes like clam chowder with out the clam and potatoes..

Hmph. It was one of my favorites while on the plan. With dried roasted garlic (that reconstituted when I added the hot water) and some hot sauce or salsa. And crumbled Medifast crackers.

I thought it was totally irredeemable, until someone posted a recipe on one of the boards for cream of broccoli crackers!! I figured it was worth a try, because I didn't care if I wasted the soup. I like them so well, I am now actively looking for Cream of Brocc. soup!!

I still have a bunch to dump. Too bad we couldn't work a trade. But there's not much out there I want at this point. I stockpiled way too much.

I add in Molly McCheese. It tastes pretty good to me, though, even plain w/o the cheese. That is usually what I take to have at school for lunch. With crackers and a cold drink, it is pretty good for me.

I had to google it and order the McCheese on line. No one around here had it. It was cheap, but the shipping was 3 times the cost of the product! Oh well, I ordered it anyway. I like it.

I have bought it in Albertson's and Bashas, but cannot find it in Safeway. If those stores are not in your area, I am not sure where else to suggest. But, I always get 2 of them just in case I can't find them somewhere someday.

There is another company that makes the same thing. I think it is Butter Buds on that same shelf in the spice aisle, but it has 1 added carb, so I usually grab the Molly one

I love the Molly McCheese in the broccoli soup. That and Better Than Buillon. I agree it's nasty alone. I bought the Molly Mc Cheese at Teebop dot com. It was pretty cheap but yeah paying shipping sucks.
