coffee tea me

Postby krandle » April 20th, 2005, 11:40 am

Hello all
I am going to attempt to do a full fast this time. This make day four so far honestly, so good. I have lost my weight with eating anything in moderation but incorporating shakes twice a day. But i love coffee, with cream. I read in the book that is a no no. Any suggestions?
I will come back to check after work. You guys have a good day! :D

I have one or two cups of coffee a day and add a tiny amount of 2% milk. Do they make FAT FREE half and half? It's the FAT that makes one half of the half and half  have any body to it!

Just a thought...

For years I've been using a tsp. of non-fat powdered milk in my tea. It tastes better than non-dairy creamer and it's fat-free.

According to the Quick Start Handbook:

"If you wish, you may use low-fat or skim milk or small amounts of half and half in your coffee or tea."

I think the key here is MODERATION. You can have caffinated drinks - but should limit them to three a day. If you are drinking 3 cups of coffee a day with 2 tbsp of skim milk in each one - I don't think there would be any negative effect. If you are drinking coffee by the gallons, well then ... as I said -- MODERATION.

Hope this helps.

Yes it is all a big help. I was just hoping i could use a tad bit more of the half and half. Thank you guys. Oh yeah, can the soups and oatmeal be used as a meal replacement.

The soups -- except for the fast soups -- and the oatmeals are meal replacements, yes.

The oatmeal, Chicken Noodle, Chicken and Wild Rice, Minestrone soup and Chili are ALL meal replacements!! The fast soups are freebies although I've never tried them. The crackers are considered a SNACK and not a MEAL replacement. The bars are meal replacements. The pudding, cappuccino, hot chocolate, and fruit drinks are meal replacements. You can use any of these things as part of your program, but everything is considered a medi-meal.

Don't forget to be monitored COMPLETELY by your physician if you do it. I did this program 16 years ago when it was ONLY shakes but I did it through a doctor (no online ordering back then) and I had to be monitored VERY closely and have LOTS of labs done to make sure I was ok. Truly the full fast is nothing to be toyed with. An occasional day here and there is one thing........but going full force on the "full fast" requires medical attention ladies and gentlemen!
